I already made my picks for next week. Took me ten seconds to run through them. lol

Not sure if I would call it an easy week, but I actually feel good about every pick at the moment. Have not been able to say that yet this year.

I always feel good about all my picks, obviously there are some I feel a lot better than others but for some reason this season the teams have started to reach parity and like you say games are turning into toss ups.

The NFC East for example was a laughingstock last year but somehow the two teams expected to come bottom in the division have the best records in the NFL. The Giants in particular are a big surprise, I expect them to lose each week and it's not happening for some reason. They are winning ugly but they are winning. What has happened to the Buccaneers and Saints, two teams that not too long ago were powerhouses?

I wish the website didn't put the percentage of people picking a team as I find that very influencing. When you see a stat that says 88% of people are picking a certain team I find it hard to go against the grain.

There's always a few games where I've been like "Meh". This week was boom, boom, boom. Obviously could change with injury report, but I like my picks at the moment.

Done mine as well. 3 upsets, but could change a few of them.

I'm with ya, Dennis, those percentages influence me too.

I've decided to take Washington against the Packers. 91% of people disagree with me according to the stats. My reasons are:

1) Hienecke is starting and the team will play hard for him to get a win.

2) Hienecke is a mobile quarterback who is not a sitting duck like Wentz.

3) The Green Bay Packer offensive line is banged up and playing terrible.

4) The Washington front four are getting to the quarterback and Rogers is not that mobile.

5) Washington are at home.

It just feels like an upset to me...

I have two upsets and that is one of them.

I am surprised everyone went with the Cards tonight, as my familys picks were split 6-6. But, hey, paid off for all of us. lol

I am getting killed in this competition...

To be honest with you I went with Cardinals because of Kyler Murray. The Saints have done basically nothing since Drew Brees retired and I basically know very little about the two teams in question. Good call Warrior 13 you've extended your lead by another point.

Everyone still has time. Very long season, especially with seventeenth game now.

Am I missing something here, just heard about the Christian McCaffrey trade. Carolina got a massive haul. San Francisco sent a second-round draft pick, a third-rounder and a fourth-rounder in 2023, as well as a fifth-rounder in 2024. To me it looks like the 49rs overpaid for a player who averages eight games a season because he is always injured. I don't get it. San Francisco are still paying for the Trey Lance deal and now the have done this, do they have a pick in the 2023 draft now?

I would have thought Buffalo would have been a better landing spot for McCaffery.

Yah, that's an absolutely huge haul for CMC. He's a great player, but 100% the right move for Carolina with what they were able to get. Big haul for an RB on a big contract that only plays in half the games. His cap hit is 12M a uear for the remainder of his contract. Still, that's less than half of the 28M Deebo will start getting in 2024, for much the same role... You have to imagine they won't use CMC as a bell cow RB which should cut down on injuries.

SF doesn't have much in terms of draft picks coming up in the next draft:

Third-round pick (their own or compensatory, don't know which was part of the CMC trade.)
Third-round pick (compensatory)
Fifth-round pick
Fifth-round pick (compensatory)
Sixth-round pick (compensatory)
Seventh-round pick
Seventh-round pick (via Denver)
Seventh-round pick (compensatory)

Indeed, very high price tag for McCaffery, especially when factoring in massive contract. Not sure what the 49ers are going to do with all those big contracts come the offseason, but hard to blame them for going for it.

A few different picks among us this week. Makes things a little interesting.

Bloody hell, who the hell is Brett Rypien? I thought Russell Wilson was traded from the Seahwaks to the Broncos...

Just done my Week 8 picks without looking at what the public have predicted, and I have six upsets. I'm going to go with them to see what happens when I am not influenced...

Just had to change one of my picks. I learnt my lesson last week, find out who the starting quarterback is before making my selection. So only 5 upsets.

My favorite to win the Super Bowl is still the Buffalo Bills, but I am not discounting the Dolphins. From what I have seen of them when all cylinders are firing they are good enough to beat any team in the league on any given Sunday. Tua's short passes to his speedy receivers are tough to cover and now with Raheem Mostert, one of the fastest and most-efficient backs in the league in their backfield the Miami offense looks dangerous. Not overly impressed with their defense and ability to get to the quarterback though, may be a problem in the playoffs against the likes of Allen and Mahomes.

Although he made a few mistakes that cost Pittsburgh the game I thought Kenny Pickett and wide receivers Chase Claypool and especially George Pickens could become the cornerstones for the next great Steeler team.

Washington against Indianapolis next week is a battle of the backup number 4s. To me Washington wins that game but they are underdogs.

I do not like this week at all. Too many battle of mediocrities.

Three upsets for me, but that could change. Again, not liking some of my selections.

Not sure what has happened, I made my selections on Monday morning and I had 5 upsets, now I look down the list its only 2 and I didn't change anything?

I have to feel a bit sorry for Tom Brady, he is now delusional, he's thrown his family away thinking he can win another Super Bowl. The guy should have stayed retired.

I notice the New York Jets have won 4 straight games, is that Sauce Gardner that good? Legend has it he was never beaten whilst playing in college. I haven't seen a legitimate lock down corner since Deion Sanders.

I think the system upsets every Wednesday with the new betting odd favorites. One week I had none when picking, but it changed to like two or three before Thursday.

I see things on the reverse side of the spectrum for Brady. If I was his child, I would be cheering him on to keep playing. I don't know, maybe it's just my love of football, but I think they should be way more supportive for a guy defying the odds and doing the near impossible. I just hope he can go out a winner, even if that means just barely making the playoffs.

Sauce is okay. Nothing too special for a rookie, but good. I would say Revis was the last true great, great CB. Reed the last great, great S.

Sauce is pretty darn good for a rookie.

I think the Brady family drama is getting a bit much. Sure, he's 45 and has won everything and has made the money. But normal people work 20 more years than that. Everyone says all the drama is cause of football. But really, the season is what, 5 months? and only 8 or 9 away games where he gone maybe half the week. People are acting like he lives in a came in the wilderness during the season. It's not like he never sees his family. I think there's more too it.

Completely agree. Regular people work year round for 30-40 year careers. It is almost absurd when you consider he only works for like half a year.
