Buffalo should be content with the #3 pick I'd say. NY Giants would be quite stupid to pass on an opportunity to get a QB. Unless Buffalo have a particular QB in mind and NY Giants are willing to trade, giving Indy picks 12 & 22 in exchange for #3 seems fair to me.
And oh my god, that amount of picks is insane. I do think NYG need a QB, but if Buffalo are desperate/stupid enough to possibly hand over 6 picks (2 good & 2 decent) then they must do that trade. If Buffalo were to do a deal like that and pick up a bust, they'd be even more screwed than Miami.
Warrior, while I think Cleveland would be stupid to not take Barkley at #1, I think they will be stupid. Very few mock drafts have Barkley at #1, and John Dorsey doesn't rate RB as a position. And remember, this is Cleveland we're talking about. Expect the unexpected. Plus, there is a small chance Barkley will be around at pick 4, especially if your prediction of Buffalo trading all the way to #2 happens.

It's a risk if Buffalo only trades up to #3. This would allow the Giants to possibly select the QB they wanted all along. That, or the Giants could trade the pick to another team, say the Jets, and then they could do the same. By not trading up to #2 instead of#3, there is a chance that Buffalo could actually have to play against the QB of their dreams twice a year for the next fifteen years. It isn't worth the risk.
I know it's a crazy amount of picks, but I would play that much hardball with Buffalo if they wanted #2. Honestly, it's actually only two extra picks than what the Draft Picks Value Charts dictates. As far as I see it, those two extra picks is the luxury tax Buffalo must pay since the Gaints would possibly lose out on an elite talent (since they would be dropping to #12 and below).
Let's say Buffalo did trade up to #2 and Cleveland went QB at #1. There is zero chance whatsoever that the Colts would pass on Barkley. They have already stated multiple times that they will pick Barkley at #3 if he is there, allowing them to pair him with Luck. If Cleveland doesn't pick Barkley, they will most likely lose him. There are four QB Prospects to the one great RB prospect; there is a greater likelihood that the QB you want will still be there at #4 instead of Barkley. Even if Buffalo trades to #2, the Browns could swap picks with Indy (#3 + incentives for #2) if they feel like someone might jump them and take the QB they want.
Besides, I've heard there was one small report during the combine that suggested that the Browns might have a plan to trade for Tyrod Taylor (like they did) in order to build a more run-first offense. If said report is true, which appears likely, Saquon will be the #1 pick.
Very rarely does a running back go as the first pick in the NFL draft. The last time was the highly touted Ki-Jana Carter in 1995 who went to the Bengals and turned out to be major bust, in seven NFL seasons he compiled 1,144 rushing yards.
Before him it was Bo Jackson in 1986 and he rightfully went first, he's a legend. Then you have to remember the NFL was more run orientated so there was a few more in the 70's and 80's: George Rogers, Billy Sims, Ricky Bell, and O.J. Simpson. Is Barkley as good as the names on this list? From what I've seen of him he reminds me of Gale Sayers the way he runs.
Cousins is going to sign with Minnesota, Bradford with Arizona, & Bridgewater with NY Jets. Looks like Arizona don't need to consider trading up anymore. It'll be interesting whether the Jets still take a QB in the draft.
There are some more bizarre decisions that happened today, with Jordy Nelson & Danny Amendola being released. Miami have already pounced on Amendola, and even though he's 32, he's a good pick up. I just can't understand why Miami have a love affair with players 30 and above?

So... Miami can't afford Landry at 15-16 million per year... but they can afford two mediocre receivers for 8 million each...? Gawd, our executives are absolutely awful. We will definitely be in the running for a Top 5 Draft Pick next year.
Jets are said to be cutting ties with QB Petty and QB Hackenburg, making it likely that they will still draft one of the four QB Prospects even with Bridgewater and McCown. Broncos are less likely to do this, but there is still a chance should they cut Simien (more likely) or Lynch (less likely since they spent a 1st Round Pick on him just two years ago). If I was Denver, I would ride Keenum and draft the best available Defensive Player or that Guard from Notre Dame.
I wonder where AJ McCarron will end up, as it could have huge implications on the Draft as well. If he is willing to be a backup, one of the better teams around the team might like him. Otherwise, I guess Buffalo would be the last landing spot.
The quarterback picture is getting a little clearer, as I thought Kirk Cousins is going to Minnesota and Case Keenum is going to Denver. Minnesota have a shot at the Super Bowl with Cousins leading them, just hope he doesn't make any of his ususal bad calls when the Vikings reach the playoffs and gets them knocked out of the tournament otherwise he's in for a hard time from the press. I'm scratching my head a bit with the Denver decision as they have an opportunity to draft a young talented rookie high in the draft but are instead going with a journeyman who has had an up and down career. I look at Keenum and I see a good backup, not a starter.
I personally don't like all these free agency signings and shifting around of players. I like the old NFL where it was the same squad every year plus a few rookies. The players these days are just mercenaries. I can't blame them though but as a fan I like to see a team grow through the draft.
I have a strange feeling that no one will pick him up, or he'll be picked up right at the deadline. He's solid enough that he should've been picked up earlier. In fact, he should've either been picked up in 2017, of perhaps taken the starting job from Dalton. McCarron did everything he could and would've broken the Cincy playoffs curse if it wasn't for a disgraceful Hill fumble & woeful penalties by the defense.
If someone does pick him up (which someone definitely should) I'd say Arizona is the best bet. He can play as a backup QB for Bradford's season, and he will almost be guaranteed to start, since at some point Bradford will get injured.
Amendola's mediocre? Sure the other one is young and has proved nothing, but Amendola has been a weapon for Brady for years. We'll have to see how he goes. Don't give up hope...yet... When I saw the headline before seeing his age, I thought it was a wonderful deal. The age does make me frown a bit, but you're not going to get many better WRs through free agency.
Dennis the NFL is child's play compared to one of Aus's main codes NRL. Players leave either at the start or half way through a season, and there are multiple (probably about 20) players who have been to about 5 teams in their career. It's disgraceful. One player I can point out started 2016 at the Eels, then went to the Roosters in 2017, and is now at the Titans this year. 2 teams replaced roughly half of their squad with other random players; they're not even the same teams that failed consistently last year. I agree, all these trades are disappointing. It's annoying when you have a player you never liked come to your team, and you have to try like them. Or the other way round with players leaving your team and you have to hate them.

Warrior13, looks like I'm going to be right. Cleveland grab Darnold with the #1 pick and possibly trade away the #4 pick. The thing is though Carlos Hyde is he is the sort of running back that fits the pass catching gameplay Tyrod Taylor is used to which makes me think the Browns are going to be a pass orientated team as opposed to a rushing one which would have been the case if they had of selected Barkley.
The question now is will the Giants take Barkley #2 or take a young quarterback to study under Manning. I have a feeling they will take the quarterback. It seems like a wasted pick taking Barkley, they are not going to get a sniff of the Super Bowl until they have Mannings successor firmly in place and they can always get a decent running back nearer the time.
If the Bills trade up to #3 to take Josh Allen the door is open for the Browns if they don't trade down to take Bradley Chubb #3 which would instantly solidify Clevelands defense as one of the best in the league.
You're right Warrior13, this is the best draft in years.
That's a bizarre choice for Cleveland. They are rebuilding. They don't need a washed up veteran who while was once a star of the game, will only have a few good games a season now. Looks like the start of a line of bad decisions. Cleveland sadly may repeat previous years of draft failure. If the Giants take a QB, Indy will take Barkley, especially since Suh is on their radar to partially fill the hole that was meant for Chubb.
There's another strange, but effective decision Cleveland could make. By trading away both the #1 and #4 picks to teams (I'll use the example of Buffalo & Miami) they could have these picks in the draft:
Matt, I?m beginning to wonder if the Browns know what they are doing. Interesting theory Warrior13 has put forward. From Cleveland?s point of view giving up the #1 and #4 picks to stockpile all those picks should get them up and running with at least three or four wins during the season. The only thing is though they have done this before bypassing Carson Wentz and Deshaun Watson and I don?t think the Cleveland fans will be too happy if they let another promising young quarterback go by and the their picks in the draft don?t pan out. No way Cleveland are picking Barkley with the first pick, it?s either Darnold or they trade it to Buffalo who are now desperate for a quarterback. I just have this feeling Chubb is going to fall to the Bowns at #4. As for Barkley, I have a feeling he will slip down the and either the Buccaneers or Bears will draft him. I?d like to see him go to the Bears and follow in the footsteps of Gayle Sayers and Walter Payton.
Yeah, like Matt, I have begin wondering the possible scenarios that would see the Browns trading down. If they want Allen, they could possibly trade #1 away and still draft him at #4. Should be interesting how it all unfolds.
AJ McCarron has signed a 2-year deal with Buffalo. It would be wise this draft to fill holes on the team to aid McCarron. If he doesn't turn out to be cut out for a starter, in a few seasons they can head to the draft and get a QB.
Dennis I don't get it. You say Cleveland HAVE to pick Darnold, yet you say Darnold is a concern since he threw a lot of INTs in college. If there's even one hint of uncertainty, Cleveland should go with Barkley at #1.
~ Sometimes people change, but sometimes you just open your eyes & realise who they truly are ~
Matt, of the quarterbacks coming out of college into the draft Darnold is the most NFL ready so I presumed he would be the one the Browns would target. Now they have Tyrod Taylor who has NFL experience they have given themselves the option of trading back and stockpiling picks.
No point getting a player like Barkley regardless how great he is until your offensive line is sorted out and it looks to me the Browns are dealing with their passing game first. I personally think the Browns will take a quarterback with one of their top two pick who will they will groom to be the face of the franchise.
If Cleveland want to sort out their o-line to help Barkley out, they should just trade down with their #4 pick and fill holes. Then in 1-2 seasons, lure a QB in through free agency or draft a guy. Cleveland simply cannot afford to screw up this draft. Taking a QB is high risk high reward, while taking Barkley is safe.
~ Sometimes people change, but sometimes you just open your eyes & realise who they truly are ~
It won?t happen Matt, the Cleveland fans are still upset they let Carson Wentz and Deshaun Watson go to other teams, if with the first pick this year they don?t take the best available quarterbac from a choice of the best quarterbacks since 1983 there will be a riot in Cleveland. I don?t think the Browns will take Barkley at #4 even if he is available as they?ve already invested in Hyde and they have a salary cap to take into account. I still think Barkley will fall to Tampa, even more so after watching a video of Charlie Casserley the guy who put together Washington?s four Super Bowl winning sides of the 80?s explain how rare it is to get a franchise quarterback and that decent running backs can be picked up in the second and third round every year.
Who?s Miami?s starting quarterback, are they sticking with Tannenhill? I see quality players leaving the Dolphins but I see no big names replacing them.
God...I just read Bucky Brooks' mock draft which had several ludicrous calls in it, and Barkley to #7 is another I'm afraid. Cleveland, NY Giants, & Indy have all stated interest in him, and I'm sure Denver would pick him up to fix their mediocre running game if they could. Carols Hyde will be gone in a few seasons too. Tampa Bay would dream of drafting Barkley, but it's very unlikely he falls that far back.
If Carson Wentz went to Cleveland he would have had a horrible first year (at Philly it was decent) and year 2 would've been only slightly better (while year 2 at Philly was MVP level). Cleveland are the Quarterback Graveyard. If they had picked Wentz the Cleveland fans would've been furious to see them pick up another bust at QB. Deshaun Watson wouldn't have faired much better. His total TDs would've been pretty good, but there would've been a lot more INTs. Cleveland have finally realised that they need to fix other holes for their main players to succeed.
When RG3 was at Washington he looked like a star. Off to Cleveland he went. Tore an ACL because of lack of protection, and became a bust. If he had stayed at Washington, or even went to Cleveland and didn't have the injury (assuming they had a better o-line) he could've been a star. Cleveland's past mistakes around QBs were perhaps not mistakes after all. Their choice to trade down multiple years have them in the position they are today (picks 1 & 4). THIS is the time they need to draft a franchise QB.
For a QB to succeed they generally need to play behind a solid o-line, need a decent RB to take pressure off, and need some decent targets to pass to. The targets are done, so the o-line and RB need to be addressed. Yes Hyde is ok but he's a short term option. If this draft the o-line is addressed, and Barkley is drafted, there will finally be a foundation for a QB to succeed. But for this to happen, they probably need to take Barkley at #1, because he may not be around at #4. The gap between Darnold & other QBs is far less than the gap between Barkley & other RBs.

What you say about the gap between the quarterbacks and the running backs is true, the problem is there are only four of them available and about ten teams that want one. Everybody knows that if they have a top four draft pick they are guaranteed one of those quarterbacks, if not they will be forced to trade up, I wouldn't be surprised if the top four or five picks are for the quarterbacks. Put it this way, I don't hear any teams making any noise about drafting a running back, they are all saying if the quarterbacks are gone we'll take him (Barkley) if he is still there which by my calculation means it is Tampa he'll be going to.
Barkley to the Buccaneers unless N.Y. Giants draft him with the second pick of the draft.
I personally would love to see Barkley slip down the draft and the Redskins trade their first (pick #13) and 2019 first round pick to move up to sixth overall and select him. The Redskins still don't have a decent running attack and having Barkley would instantly make them a threat and competitive with Dallas and Philadelphia.
