Do you think are forums are just too spread out at the moment. We have a ton of forums for individual games - Maybe it would be best if we closed all the ones with zero posts? May make things a bit clearer - Anyone got any thoughts?
Maybe just hide them, but somewhere accessible. And if someone posts in it, it'll reappear. Let me make this a bit clearer haha:
So Matt posts in 'Oddworld: Abe's Odysee', which (for example) hasn't been posted in for 6 months (there have been no posts haha). It was hidden, but since Matt used Google to access the thread, it reappears. I post in it and nobody posts after me for 6 months, so it returns to be hidden.
Maybe we dont need a forum for each game. It doesnt work either to have a hub for wii games and the PS games as most releases are for various consoles.
I dont know but most that post in specific forums are asking for help. Maybe by asking for help it opens a forum for people to comment. Anything thats just general conversation about games goes in General Gaming Chat like General Chat.
General Chat Video Game Discussion S&P SCT New Members Pokemon (Maybe Sims and Simpsons tapped out)
Or where you have the menu for the games, the person looks for the game and can leave a comment.
Or in the search engine, you type in a game, this leads to the game intro, any cheats, guides, member reviews with game ratings and users comments/threads all tied into one. This way you dont need individual forums at all except for the game series that have activity. If another game gains activity you can create a forum and provide a direct link.

Thanx to Craizen for the sig, love ya babe, Hubby for the avi.
I'm not sure how, but I think something needs to be done about the number of forums. If they were combined it would be better. There are so many dead forums it's insane. I'm not sure if this has been done for all games, but I know the New Super Mario Bros forum is one forum combined, featuring threads about any of the 3 games. That might be the way to go.

I agree, this needs addressed and not thrown to page 3. lol I'd agree like I said though, just do away with all the specific game forums for now. Let everything have a specific console forum though. See what happens.
Sounds about like the time when all the general boards were merged. Good idea on paper but it put off a lot of people.
Or like the time when guest posting was disabled and activity took a nose dive.
Considering this isn't a community-centered website, you'd probably be better off leaving things be.
Or make things seem less like a forum in favor of a subject / comment system; something that still uses the forum systems, but uses a different UI to seem more inviting. Even this alone wouldn't be worth the time / money / effort, though.
I say merge more together, leave ones that are getting some activity. As I said before, I don't think the community is strong enough to have many different sub-communities.
If a few people request a certain game boards, by all means make it available.
I like K Dawg's (and others) idea if just keeping some of the specific game forums that have some activity and list the others in some kind of archive.
Craizen's JOIN MY CLAN thread is a good idea too, to keep those requests under control
I personally would go for less forums, I feel a small thriving community looks more enticing for someone looking to join a website than a huge one that looks as dead as a doornail. I think the key is to for the forums to expand slowly in different directions as they become popular.
Forum guest only post friend codes - I do not see reasoning in enabling them again. Membership looks to be growing unlike before - Post are still steadily the same. Guest are now making accounts and posting. Bringing back Forum guest isn't going to increase posting.
Sorry nikki. May be me being a bit stupid at this moment in time. But that list is that a recomended merger or forums to leve alown?
Personaly i see the sence in the merging of forums. Like the game ones. As someone alredy said
Now although you would gess why i asked that question(new members welcome forum.)<for the folks that dont know me)
If that has to be merged. It gets merged.
But enuf of that
Merging into a smaller forum would definetly be a good idea. In my humble opinion
