In his official account's tweet, Trump said that video game violence and video game glorification should be stopped because it has created 'monsters', 'Video game violence & glorification must be stopped-it is creating monsters!'
I can't see it happening myself, at the end of the day Trump is a business man and the video game industry in America generates 99 billion dollars a year. I seem to recall him dabbling in the industry a few years back...
1. He has no chance. That's like trying to outlaw tobacco. It kills but hey we gain taxes so yey.
2. Is he going to ban Japan from making them or just exporting to the US? Fine by me that means Europe will get more attention.
3. Really going to ban Sims? Just Dance? I mean Sims can be horribly violent and turn people into killers...yeah he's right!
Besides if he wants to act then have games like Grand Theft Auto banned. Or get him to play it, slapping hookers might be right up his ally.
Quite frankly I'm sick of hearing this, a psychotic killer will be a psychotic killer regardless. I see more frightening ways to kill people on Criminal Minds than I do on Final Fantasy. If he wants rid of video games he will have to rid the US of TV, the internet and books.
Thanx to Craizen for the sig, love ya babe, Hubby for the avi.
Lol, all the time video games are earning the government a ton of money they won't get banned. With what's happening in Trumps administration regarding taxes it will probably mean games and consoles that are imported from countries like Japan will increase dramatically in price.
I'm struggling keeping up with Donald Trump, he's done more in one week as President than Obamas administration did in eight years. Every time I switch on the TV he's signing some executive order. I think he's got his hands full and the last thing on his mind at the moment is video games.
Kind of funny. Trumps wants everything to be made domestic, seems people forget about Competitive advantages/opportunity cost and basic economic principals.
This'll never happen. As Sanzano said, an increase in price is probable (import/tariffs). Aka buy systems now, if you plan on using in near future lol.
testuser' s got a point there, nothing more infuriating than a slow internet connection.
As for Trump, I heard he screamed and shouted down the phone at the Australian prime minister last week who could only listen in shock as he crapped his jocks. Personally I think it's in Australias best interests to side with China as it's them they mainly trade with and half the Australian population is of Chinese origin, I wouldn't be surprised if that's what the Australian prime minister told Trump because something seriously upset him for Trump to literally hang up on him half way through the conversation.
Mark - Actually 3.7% of Australia's population are Chinese, not 50%. Origin makes no difference. My origin is several places in the UK yet that was generations ago and I feel 0 pride towards the UK. But anyway they should side with China like you say cause they trade more with them. I assume it will happen too after that blowup.
