I'm trying to prove a point so answer honestly please.
This article is the scum of the earth. There is absolutely 0 way that MY school is sexist. We have two thirds of the prefects as girls, and a female principal. The article lied when it said the decision was made on International Women's Day; it happened over 6 months ago! It was based on a year 12 student vote (year 11 back then) and grades/merit, so essentially the best candidates were chosen. A girl shouldn't get it just because she's a girl. That would be unfair and discriminatory to boys; even though one of them was better for the job, they wouldn't get it just because they are a boy.
Literally everyone I spoke to at my school (the one in the article) said it was ridiculous, even girls. 0 girls said it was sexist. Zero.
I was trying to see whether fake news persuaded any of you to believe this piece of trash article that they sat on for 6 months.

~ Sometimes people change, but sometimes you just open your eyes & realise who they truly are ~
I don't know if that qualifies as being sexist, unless it wasn't based on merit as stated. If what they said is true and no girl was up for the job and its responsibilities, then it should be no big deal. I would think there have been many affairs in schools where two boys or two girls are chosen to be head of a project or group; doesn't make it sexist. Sexism would be to say because they are girls, and for that sole fact, they weren't chosen. No, they weren't chosen because they weren't good enough.
I don't blame you. Rupert Murdoch and Kerry Packer have held an unholy duopoly over much of it for years.
Neither the article nor the accompanying video from 7 News really explain why the girls were not considered up to the job; it could have been a matter of them not meeting grades requirements, or some obscure demographical rule. Then again, 7's Sunrise wasn't really meant to be a very analytical programme.
