The New England Patriots and the Arizona Cardinals have agreed to a shock trade, one that massively favours the later, in which Tom Brady will head to the Cardinals in exchange for quarterback Carson Palmer and the Cardinals' first round draft pick. It's a move no-one saw coming.

Why are Arizona letting the 13th overal pick in the draft go for a Quarterback who only has a couple of seasons left in him? New England must have their eye on one of the Quarterbacks coming into the draft next year and are collecting collateral so they can trade up when the time is right. Carlson Palmer isn't the worst quarterback in the league and is obviously been brought in as backup which was a shrewd move. I can't wait to see who the Patriots pick with that pick. Whoever it is they are going to be under an immense pressure from the New England fans. Must be hard replacing a legend lol.
Just heard that the Raiders are after Brady, they feel he is the final piece to the puzzle that will get them to the Super Bowl. Apparently Brady is disgruntled at New England and Bilichick wants him out. If Brady goes to the Raiders he's got a good shot at getting another Super Bowl. This scenario reminds me of when the SF49rs traded Joe Montana to Kansas City in the early 90's.
I thought you were winding me up to begin with so I checked it out and there are rumours flying around involving Brady being traded, Bill Bilichick is no idiot, he knows if he doesn't cash in now he gets nothing in three years when Brady plans to retire. Oakland have a long history of taking on veterans unhappy with their former club. I wouldn't be surprised if it did happen. Oakland have everything in place to make a run for the Super Bowl, having Brady would be a massive boost for their confidence.
Yes I did, Rick Astley's 'Never going to give you up'. Have you read the rumours about the possibility of Tom Brady being traded? It's the sort of thing Bill Bilichick would do, he has a long history of getting rid of unhappy players. If he can get a number one pick and maybe a number 2 he may be tempted instead of waiting three years and getting nothing. Would you trade Tom Brady, or try and squeeze another Super Bowl out of him?
New England are currently without a doubt the best team in the NFL and will be red hot favourites to go back to back, especially with Brady playing 16 regular season games. Trading Brady would be a disastrous move unless you could draft a quarterback for the future with the number one pick. With him around they will always be in contention.
A potentially devastating scenario for 29 NFL teams though would be if Brady and Garoppolo were traded and New England received the #1 pick along with a top 20 pick. I hate it when a team has a dynasty (unless it's my team), especially if it's a team I dislike or hate (the later applies to New England). A terrible example from my AFL is the Hawthorn Hawks, who in 2008 won the equivalent of the Superbowl, in 2011 made the equivalent of the conference championships, in 2012 lost the equivalent of the Superbowl, and in 2013, 2014, and 2015, won the equivalent of the Superbowl. They were always talked about and raved about and everything was all about them. Now they have topped up on quality players and look set for another shot. You're right, NE can do the same and trade Brady for quality players or draft picks. The Hawks chose to trade their two best players nearing the end of their careers, with one looking at the end and another with 3-4 good years left. I hope, but doubt the Patriots will do the same. Not after his heroics. They don't need to. The Hawks were beginning to slide. The Patriots are climbing even higher up their Everest in history.

Everyone said the same about Joe Montana in 1993 atfter he had won 4 Super Bowl rings with San Francisco and then the SF49rs traded him to the Kansas City Chiefs. He went to the Cheifs for the 20th pick in the draft. With Montana the 1993 Kansas City Chiefs season was the franchise's most successful in 22 years: The Chiefs won the AFC Western Division and finished with an 11-5 record. The first rule in business is there is no sentiment in business. Bilichick will cash in while he has the chance, he leaves it any longer he comes away with nothing in a couple of years unless of course he is planning on retiring then anyway in which case he will hange onto him to have a couple of easy years. By the way, ask Tom Brady who his idol is and he'll reply 'Joe Montana'.
