Basically what it is, the fight itself will be an embarrassing one-sided spectacle but the lead up should be entertaining as the the combatants are the two biggest trash-talkers in their respective sports. Anyone who thinks the MMA guy, McGregor has any kind of chance against Mayweather is deluded and being taken for a fool by the hype. It's the equivalent the world's no 1 squash player taking on Roger Federer in a Tennis match.

Nadal lost 13-15 in the 5th set in a massive upset.

There's always a big upset at Wimbledon every year where a big name gets beat by an unkown, looks like it's Nadal's turn this year.

There was already one in the men's (Wawrinka losing in the first round) and several in the women's. It's almost like an upset isn't even surprising anymore.

Muller was 16th seed so not a huge upset, but certainly not expected. Muller played well, very consistent. Nadal was the better player at times, but not consistently.

Considering Nadal hadn't lost a grand slam set since the Australian Open Final (30 consecutive set wins) I'd say it is. Didn't think he had much of a chance against Nadal. Both players saved 4 break/match points in the 5th so it could've gone either way. They showed a replay and the 5th set was stunning.

ah nuts, Murray and now Konta out too. I didnt really think they had a chance of winning the tournament, but it was nice to hope.
Froome out of the yellow jersey in TdF as well.

Garbine Muguruza & Roger Federer win the singles titles in relatively easy fashion. Was not expecting Venus to lose, and it was even more surprising especially since she was bageled for the first time at Wimbledon.

Looking forward to how the US Open goes (even though it's not televised) since Australia's #1 idiot player is on a downward slide and others are showing promise.

Venus fought well in the first set. But yeah when she just lost out in that one she seemed to fall apart.

Federer crushed everyone. Seems to have been a lot of players with injuries and problems but even at his age Federer seemed pretty unstoppable.

Week to go in the TdF and its very close. only a handful of seconds between the top riders.

So was the mayweather / mcgregor fight worth any part of the hype ... or the money it generated?

Lol, Mayweather carried McGregor for ten rounds, the difference in skill level was painfully evident. Mayweather is 49-0, a five time world champion in different weight classes, silver medalist in the Olympics. The general public with no knowledge of combat sports have been fooled into thinking a crude and clumsy cage fighter with no Boxing experience had a chance of beating him. It was never going to happen unless McGreggor threw a lucky punch and even then I doubt it would have knocked Mayweather out as I've only seen him wobbled momentarily once in those 49 fights he had previously. Mayweather is a master Boxer and defensive genius, this fight was all about giving the public what they wanted to see and making a lot of money.

Put it this way, who would win if the world Squash Champion came to Wimbledon to face Roger Federer? Would you give him a chance becaus he knows how to hit a ball with a racquet?

Well it worked . got the public to shell out around $700mil for a hyped up show fight. Whoever came up with the idea is the genuis.

The funny thing is though is that McGregor has a better chance of beating Phelps in a a swimming race than he had of beating Mayweather. Love him or hate him Mayweather is without doubt one of the best Boxers to lace on a pair of gloves. I can't believe McGreggor is talking about a rematch with him.

I can definitely believe it. $100 million to do some interviews, be a bit rude and then get hit for a bit.

But based on McGreggors performance last week the general public will not be interested, they won't be fooled twice. Anybody who knows anything about boxing could see Floyd Mayweather carried McGreggor for ten rounds before he decided to end proceedings. At no point was Mayweather in any kind of danger, he was in complete control, it was just a sparring match for him against a novice
