Oh I understand all too well. I'm close with one of the girls at work, and despite the fact I'm 99% sure there actually is something between us, I can't mention it, I can't act on it. Neither could she if she actually did want too. 1) I'd be accused of abusing my position. 2) It'd make working together strenuous. 3) I'd be accused of favoritism & 4) If it ever went south, that'd be potentially damaging for both our careers.
Oh, not to mention the small thing of I'd get fired >_>

I feel your pain, but I guess you could wait until one of you or both of you quit that job. If there is a genuine chance of something happening you should wait, but if it's a long shot (or worse nearly impossible) then just move on.
