What is the big deal with this. People are stopping watching the NFL altogether because of this. It's so ridiculous. All over (in every single comments section of every article/page that has comments) the NFL website there are thousands of comments saying how "The NFL spits on the graves of the men who died fighting for YOUR freedom. But YOUR mindless, trivial, meaningless entertainment is more important than the sacrifice they made for you". They say that African-American players kneeling during the national anthem is somehow disrespecting soldiers who have died??? They are not linked in the slightest. By protesting these players are pointing out that racism still exists in America. And guess what? It sure does, especially after this outburst.
To disrespect a dead soldier you actually need to say something offensive. How is kneeling on the ground "spitting on the graves of the men who died fighting"? They are kneeling, not spitting on graves. Just kneeling and kneeling only. Imo this is the most ridiculous thing. Yes if you wear a Fidel Castro shirt to a game as a player you are an idiot & it's not appropriate, but I don't see every kneeling player wearing one.
It's also about unity. In week 2 we saw almost, if not all teams linking arms even if they weren't kneeling. They too were protesting for equality. I'm positive those players don't want to be perceived as being offensive to their flag and country. They just want to protest, because some of them feel like second class citizens in their own country. So if you felt that way, why would you stand for the anthem? Yes I stand for my national anthem at school but I don't feel pride, or anything for that matter when it plays. Because why would I too? If I was currently playing in a sports team in Australia, I would too protest like this. For equality. Not to say f*** you to my country, but to remind people that equality isn't a true reality yet.
I get that a lot of Americans are extremely patriotic, and can see why they're upset, but their extreme patriotism has blinded them, surely.

IN my limited interactions with veterans of the US armed forces, they agree with the protesters and their right to peacefully protest. None that I?ve spoken to, consider this offensive. They lay down their lives to fight and protect the very right of freedom. That includes the freedom of expression/speech, the freedom to protest that which you do not agree with.
Correct me if I am wrong, but does the US constitution not state ?we the people?? It is then people, not governing bodies, whether state, federal or corporate, that actually hold the power. And one of the best uses of that power is protest. Whether it be boycotting a companies product, rallies denouncing certain proposed laws, or taking a knee during an iconic American moment to highlight that what these people are paying homage to, is naught but a dream
The American anthem is not sacrosanct. It is not something that should be held above and beyond everything. Because it does not, and can never, in s county such as America, represent the entirety of that country.

I think the whole of the US need to be put in my cage. Seriously...
Those that are complaining about the kneeling and those that flaunt the Confederate flag need to move to Venezuela where they can live happily in a dictatorship because THAT much dedication about a damn flag is just ridiculous and there is nothing democratic about it.
Most of those that complain about the kneeling probably sit during the National Anthem with a beer in their hands anyway. I bet they don't stand with their hands on their hearts singing whilst admiring their framed portrait of Trump..please!
Thanx to Craizen for the sig, love ya babe, Hubby for the avi.
Great quote, it made me laugh. Not sure Trump becoming President was the best thing for the world. The man's a business man not a politician and it is showing big time with some of the decisions he is making. I sometimes get the feeling he enjoys treading on peoples toes and rubbing them up the wrong way just for the fun of it. He's itching to attack North Korea and show off the military arsenal at his disposal and remind everyone how powerful the US is.
And yet Clinton had something like 2.5miion more votes, but the electoral college is beyond a joke. So now the US, and the rest of us are stuck with a giant orange orangutan ooompa loompa in charge.

Also I should make that my quote from now on. kinda like Matt with his Warrior Said: I realized that Matt is the chosen one of supercheats. How would one do that?
