Today Stephen Hawking the acclaimed physicist died in his home. It was quote a shock even though he was 76. I was walking to class and bam, another icon bites the dust.

My teacher mixed him up with a film character named Steven, and yesterday told my friends that Steven Hawking (mistaking him for someone else) would die soon.
A brief history of time was one of the first books I read that actually made me think. And like most of the books I read now I don't understand everything but it's good to think.
He has inspired a lot more thinkers so the future can be full of more knowledge.

Stephen Hawking's person always inspired me when i had bad times. This was realy great man and scientist I was very interested in his theories of the universe.
Isn't he the professor in the wheelchair who before he died said trying to make contact with aliens is foolish as they will invade earth and make humanity extinct if the discover we exist?
I always believed he was a wise man. Now I think he's even wiser.
Who knows what alien races would think of us. I mean, look back at Earth's history with some of the groups in different times. Even now. An ISIS-type race that seeks to destroy others in the name of their God? A Nazi-type race that seeks to eradicate those that are different to them? An Imperial-type race that solely seeks to rule any and every planet they find? I could go on and on, but you get the point.

Yeah about a year ago... I don't think there is much chance of us getting attacked by aliens.... Here's why I think that...
.... So the universe has been around for billions of years.... Human life on earth tens of thousands I guess... So I doubt it is likely that we'll share the same time in the Universe as other sentient life in a galaxy far away... We'll probably kill each other way before then.
Warrior - One of the new members accidentally bumped it lol.
That's a good point Rich. While I'm sure somewhere else in the universe there is life, what you say about the billions of years and no 'attacks' makes a lot of sense.
