This forum is getting dull so time for some conversation. America has mastered conventional warfare and nuclear weapons have made large scale conflicts a thing of the past. But you still have insurgency. How can you defeat an enemy who hides among civilians and does not show their real numbers?
You can't just take town after town like in WWII. They'll hide with civilians. If you aren't positive the person you're about to bomb is an insurgent then you'll just make more insurgents seeking revenge. Is the best method to improve their conditions so they no longer have something to fight for? Is it best to break down their will to fight psychologically? Is it best to just rack up body counts wherever you can?
You can't let them win, so play mind games with them. Force them to make a mistake. The easiest way is to subtly influence their family members. If you don't know who they specifically are, you can still play mind games.
Counterintelligence is key so you can identify as many as possible. The issue will never end, but their conditions likely won't ever get better, so you just have to stop as many as you can, in a covert way.
~ Sometimes people change, but sometimes you just open your eyes & realise who they truly are ~
