This will most likely push the total close to 1000; we are presently at 809. ;)
I'm just glad these games will be more competitive than Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee. They dumbed down the mechanics in those games for the younger audience, but GameFreak has said these newest games will be more for the veteran players.
I just wonder if they will be Pokemon Plus/Minus - as many expected would be after X/Y before the Pokemon Company announced Sun/Moon - or if they will be something unique altogether.
I've only played 2 Pokemon series (and one wasn't even an official Pokemon game), but from my small experience it's probably the fact that it appeals to a wide demographic of gamers. It's not like Super Mario where you sort of grow out of it. For younger gamers they get to experience a wonderful adventure with so many different types of Pokemon, while for more experienced gamers it's about strategy and creating the strongest team possible. And I think the fact it has such a rich history certainly helps too. I mean, these days there will be young parents that will be able to say to their kids "I played Pokemon when I was your age, you should too".
Warrior will probably have a better theory though.

~ Sometimes people change, but sometimes you just open your eyes & realise who they truly are ~
I remember playing Pokemon games on an old gameboy, loved it, although not played anything recent, except Pokemon GO which my youngest kid loved too, and it was good going around battling gyms and catching pokemon on the streets together.
