I think Lock has potential, but the Broncos clearly do not feel the same.
Michael Lombardi (insider) has now emphatically said the 49ers will not be going Fields. Huge mistake if they do not pick him. People have now circled back to Lance while a few are staying with Jones. Some are still sticking to Fields even after this report, like Bucky Brooks and now Mel Kiper, believing it is still a smokescreen. This is crazy.
The 49ers haven't told anyone anything, so it's all assumptions at this point. Urban Meyer has said they are drafting Lawrence, they even have reported given him a playbook. Eagles wanted to trade up to #3 for Zach Wilson, but were basically told by the Jets that it would be a waste to do so. No one has any concrete evidence what the 49ers will do, but if they don't go Fields, I think it's a mistake.
If 49ers go Fields, I think Falcons go Pitts. If 49ers go Lance, I think Falcons go Fields. If 49ers go Jones, I think the Falcons go Pitts or Trade Out.
I see the Green Bay Packers have admitted their mistake drafting Jordan Love and there is now a trade in the works with the New England Patriots for the quarterback.
Looks like the Packers have no choice if they want Rogers to finish his career in Green Bay. I think management realized that the Packers are one or two players away from a Super Bowl and if they can get the Patriots 15 pick in the first round they can make amends in Rogers eyes and also pick up a decent receiver, someone like Kadaruis Toney everyone in Green Bay will be happy.
If that doesn't happen what do you think the chances are of the Packers trading Rogers for the San Francisco 49rs first round pick, number 3 overall? Rogers doesn't like the Packers and they don't like him...
They will not be trading Love. I also doubt they would trade Rodgers within the NFC. It would have to be with a team in the AFC and one that do not have a QB or will be drafting one.
Beyond all that I'm not sure why someone would give up a 1st for Love when he hasn't played and has now sat for a year so you're losing a year of control. You can just draft your own guy.
Sat a year behind Aaron Rogers, must have learned a fair bit. Hasn't thrown a pass in the NFL, he's basically still a rookie in my eyes. I don't think he'll be any good anyway, he just doesn't sound like an NFL quarterback. I keep getting him mixed up with the Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts. He looked half decent from what I saw of him last year. Now thinking about it I doubt Belichick would be interested in Love, no NFL film on him for starters.
And why would the Packers give up Love and #29 to move up to #15? If Love is on the market, I would have to think the trade would be Love for #15 straight up. Otherwise, it would be like the Packers got nothing in 1st Round last year.
Reports about the Steelers zeroing in on either Najee Harris (who might slide into the 2nd otherwise), Teven Jenkins (like off the board by then), and Landon Dickerson (a clear reach). I don't like any of those scenarios as the Steelers could just sign Villaneauva and go Edge Rusher in the 1st. Harris or Dickerson should be available when they select in the 2nd.
Working on my next (and possible) final update to my mock draft on scratch paper. Gonna contain many differences if it stays as I currently have it.
Only about a week away! Can't wait to start seeing y'all's Final Mock Drafts! Again, even if you post them, you can edit them up until the Draft kicks off.
I still can't comprehend why Pittsburgh let James Connor go. He was a pretty good RB, and definitely capable of being a RB1. Did he have a bad season recently, or some injuries?

Actually, he is RB2 material. Not fit for the full load. Far too slow to be effective. Basically all the RBs that will go in the first three rounds would an upgrade over Connor. There is a reason the Cards got him for barely anything.
Constant injury problems and hasn't really shown he can be a number 1 RB. I like him as a person and he has a nice story (went to Pitt for college, had cancer) but he's not anything more than a #2 RB that can help take some carries when you need a few yards.
Also RB is such a cheap position with so much depth that I'd argue you shouldn't be giving any RB a second contract no matter how good they are. The Panthers, Saints, Cowboys, Vikings, Titans, Bengals, and Packers will likely be or already are regretting the 12M/yr contracts they've given out to RBs. Conner would've been much cheaper than that, but no reason to pay at all when you can grab a younger cheaper guy in the draft.
Am I missing something here? He missed 3 games last season. 2019 was poor, & he didn't have a large workload, but he improved last season. Imo the only negative is a low number of TDs being scored after 2018. Arizona have got themselves a handy player.

Matt: His 2018 Numbers are skewed by the fact the Steelers OL was still young and elite. He is more of the play from 2019 & 2020. He's either a backup or the second option in a two man system.
Updating my Final Mock Draft, and I'm hoping to have it posted by the end of the day. SO MANY CHANGES. I'm also sort of predicting a trade, but I'm not swapping the teams since we don't need to.
