Any developments with Rogers, pre-season starts next month. He certainly isn't helping the Packers if he is not turning uo for practice at this stage.

Not really. Rodgers himself said he'll figure out the 2021 in "a couple weeks". A writer for Sports Illustrated predicted:

The Packers won't trade him in 2021.
Some contract accommodation- financial, length or both- will be made.
The Packers will trade him in 2022.

So essentially no update.

Mike is right. He is stuck there for this year. Packers playing hard ball.

But if they were smart, they would trade him while his stock is high.

How about these unlikely but fair trades?

Packers receive Fitzpatrick, Miami 2022 1st, Miami 2023 1st, Washington 2022 1st
Washington receives Tua
Miami receives Rodgers

OR

Packers receive Fitzpatrick, Vegas 2022 1st, Vegas 2023 1st, Vegas 2024 1st
Washington receives Carr
Vegas receives Rodgers, Washington 2022 2nd

The second option is an interesting one. Washington wouldn't be interested in Tua but Carr I know they would. Fitzpatrick and a second round pick for Carr is a steal. Although not the most exciting player, Derek Carr is still a top 10 quarterback in the NFL.

I knew you would like the second one. ;)

I think Fitz and a 2nd for Carr would be pretty fair considering he has a pretty big contract and is in the second tier of QBs. But even though he is not a top dog, he could lead that Redskins team deep into the playoffs.

Second trade probably makes the most sense but hard for me to imagine GB necessarily wanting Fitzpatrick. You'd have to think any trade involving Rodgers would mean that Jordan Love would be starting in GB. If they're trading Rodgers they aren't trying to win and all Fitz would do is win them a couple games.

Fitz is really only included for expiring contract and to give Love another year to develop. All depends where Love is at, but I would have to assume they want him to have another year off with how they are sticking to their guns with Rodgers. Fitz would provide cheaper placeholder, win less games than Rodgers, and the Packers would still obtain three firsts with him while sending Rodgers to AFC:

Does anyine know how good Jordan Love is, I can't recall seeing him throw the ball let alone start a game. Having someone like Fitzpatrick at Greenbay if Rodgers leaves makes sense to me.

Is Rogers still holding out? Any chance the Packers have of reaching the Super Bowl dwindles the longer Rogers is not there. At this stage he is just hurting the team leaving them in limbo. He needs to be shipped off to Denver or whoever is prepared to give the Packers a haul of 1st round picks.

No one knows how good Love is at this point, but he was raw coming out of college despite having some Mahomes traits.

Rodgers will report to camp soon enough. He is stuck being a Packer this year.

The Jeopardy fan in me wants him to sit out and take the Jeopardy job as I've actually liked him the most of all the guest hosts. Not sure if any of you guys are Jeopardy watchers.

What is Jeopardy, I keep hearing it mentioned. For some reason I assumed it was a live TV show where the celebrity contestants have to survive on a desert island. I think I have it co fixed with something else.

Rogers still hasn't reported to the Packers! I really dislike this selfish guy. Why don't the Packers just go with Love and tell the NFL they will take the best offer for Rogers. Why are they hanging around waiting for a guy who one way or another will not be part of their organisation in a year or two's time.

Haha, I think you're thinking of Survivor. Jeopardy is the trivia show where the contestants have to answer in the form of a question. Alex Trebek hosted it for decades but he sadly passed away and they've been having a rotation of guest hosts on for the past few months. Rodgers is a big fan of the show so he was invited to be a guest host and I think he actually did pretty well, and he's made comments that he'd like to be a permanent host post-NFL career. Joe Buck the commentator is also going to be a guest host for a week in August.

I like Jeopardy, but I did not find him to be head and shoulders above all the other guest hosts they have had. He was good, but I would rather see him on the gridiron.

Oh sure, I just like the novelty of it vs a political commentator or an internet favorite like Levar Burton. Ken Jennings is too arrogant or something, I didn't like him. Bill Whitaker was awful. Mayim Bialik was okay. Buzzy Cohen at least had some energy and obvious passion. I just want them to pick someone who can really commit to it.

A quiz show! Rodgers wants to host a quiz show. The guy's a fool, he has the chance to go down as one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history and he is wasting his time on a quiz show. Rodgers needs to get that second Super Bowl win to cement his claim which his current team are capable of doing for him.

Now I just won't stand for this Jeopardy slander. Jeopardy is an American institution over 75 years old with millions of viewers daily. It's not some silly game show network show, it's broadcast worldwide on basic television and there's a ton of prestige attached to hosting it especially following Alex Trebek who hosted for 35 years.

I do agree that it's probably a venture best suited for when he retires, but I don't blame Rodgers for wanting to be the host as he's a lifetime fan. It would also be huge for his brand.

I think they need to hire the bartender guy as the host. A little squirrely, but very entertaining.

That Austin Rogers guy from a few years ago? I doubt he's even in contention cause he's not one of the guest hosts. But there's also nothing forcing them to pick one of those people either.

Yeah. I don't get too attached to the contestants I just like competing with them lol. I like Holzhauer last year win he was completely dominating all those games but he doesn't really have the personality to host. He's actually running a betting column for The Athletic.
