I'm seeing Aidan Hutchinson or Kayvon Thibodeaux going first in the draft. Pickett has cooled down a bit and is projected to go to either the Falcons or Steelers.

Falcons as things stand has pick 10, lots of mocks though has Matt Corral going to Washington with pick 9 ahead of Pickett. Steelers may have to trade up to get Pickett which is a possibility as the organisation is under pressure from their fans to get the local boy and not miss out like they did with Dan Marino in 1983.

How good is the cornerback Stingly Jnr, I see him in the top five of everybodies mock draft. Is he another Dieon Sanders or another Jeff Okudah, highly rated coming out of college but nothing special in the pros.

Pickett has not really cooled down, it has more to do with the Jags having the first pick again.

Pickett will be Top 3 by all rumors. That means Lions or Texans unless someone jumps to #1.

I hear Baker Mayfield is getting death threats. I wonder if the Browns will move on from him this year.

Josh Allen was the only quarterback from that celebrated quartet of quarterbacks that were supposed to have been the best draft crop since 1983 that lived up to the hype. Mayfield, Rosen, and Darnold have been busts.

I'm not sure I would go as far as calling Mayfield a bust. He's just an average starting QB, and he's been playing hurt.

When you consider Mayfield was the overall number one pick of his draft class you expect more than just an average quarterback. I personally don't think he's even that to be honest, his own head coach doesn't trust him with the ball when the game is on the line. I think he will be gone in the offseason, his contract runs out, I'm hearing rumors that the Browns want Deshaun Watson.

Actually, they picked up his fifth year option for 2022, it's worth about $19M. It's almost a guarantee he'll be starting for them next year. After that I can't say beyond it being a mistake to pay him the 35-40M going rate.

What I thought would happen, no decent quarterbacks in the 2022 draft so Cleveland are just going to pay Mayfield the $19M for his fifth year and then get rid of him after the 2022 season. No way do the Browns pay Mayfield $35-40M in 2023. Cleveland will more or less know what the situation is regarding DeShaun Watson in 12 months time so will be able to decide whether to pursue him or draft a quarterback.

Yeah, pretty much. The issue with Cleveland is that they're really in win-now mode. They need a guy that can come in and be a really good quarterback, because the rest of the roster is pretty much set. Drafting a guy, even if he is a good prospect, essentially pushes their window back 2 years while he gets acclimated to the NFL. I think they'll be going after a veteran after 2022, whether that's Rodgers or Wilson or a guy like Kirk Cousins.

I heard that Cleveland might be in the Watson sweepstakes after his civil cases conclude. Could you imagine his level of talent on a team like that?

I'm hearing Mayfield may end up in Washington after next season. I hoped that doesn't happen, I like the idea of drafting Matt Corall with the 6th pick of the draft, I hear he is deadly accurate.

Nobody knows what the time away from the game has done to Watson's talent, he may come back and be a she'll of his former self.

Corral is mediocre, Dennis. Just an average arm on a dude that can extend plays with his legs.

Willis is raw but has a high ceiling if developed. He has no awareness or ability to read defenses at this point.

Howell has a cannon, but he needs a supporting cast.

Pickett had a huge year and seems to have it all, but he might have caught lightning in a bottle.

If you want to roll with rookie, go after Pickett.

I'm hearing Pickett could be the next big bust at quarterback. A weak arm and not much experience in college. I've read a couple of articles that state it would be a disaster if Washington draft him. After getting it wrong with Haskins the club can't afford another setback.

I personally think Washington would be better off drafting the bed offensive tackle our of college and think about getting a quarterback next year. Derrick Carr maybe a possibility this year if he becomes available or maybe Tua if the Dolphins are foolish enough to sell the farm to get Watson.

I take every pre-draft article about QBs with a massive grain of salt. They don't know a thing about how they're going to be in the NFL, and so much of it depends on what team they get drafted to. Imagine Trevor Lawrence got drafted to the Patriots instead of the Jags. Do you really think he'd be having such a disaster of a season?

That said, when the consensus is weak it's never a bad idea to shore up the core of your team. The Bengals have had a successful season and Burrow looks like a borderline top 5 QB going forward, but they'll improve even more if they can get him more protection. He's getting sacked a ton.

Giants especially. Two in the Top 7 is crazy. Maybe can trade up for one of those Edge Rushers or stay put and get the best OL and probs third best DE.

I'm hearing that the Giants are interested in Brian Flores as their head coach and trading for Deshaun Watson. If the Giants offer the Texans those two number ones and a couple of lower round draft picks I think it may be enough to get Watson. Surely the Texans just want to get rid of Watson at this stage and move on.

If the Texans could just get #5 and #7 for Watson from the Giants, that would be huge. They would literally have #3, #5, and #7. Absolutely crazy. They could possibly get a Top 3 DE, a TOP 3 OL, and Pickett. Not an instant rebuild, but those could be three cornerstones moving forward.

That would be a nice haul for Houston especially considering they don't necessarily need to take a QB in this draft and can ride a mediocre Davis Mills on his dirt-cheap contract to another top 5/10 pick next year. Or they could trade one of those picks for more capital next year. The Texans don't have a good roster by any means but they don't have much future money committed and there are definitely teams in worse situations. They really need to figure out this Watson situation and the whole front office/coaching situation they've got going on though.

Even if they could get all of the Eagles 1sts for Watson and an additional 1st (considering the 2022 ones are late), that would still be decent.
