Nostalgia, reflections, other feelings

I've never had a problem with Nintendo, but then again, I really only play Pokemon Games. The only thing I hate doing is upgrading systems, but that's only every couple of years.

Switch: Let's Go Pikachu, Let's Go Eevee, Sword, Shield

Based on recent years, I should be good for another 3-5 years. Not too bad. lol

Yep. Other companies do it too but Nintendo is especially bad with it because they know their fans will always buy their games. I get especially mad by it these days because I'm mainly a PC gamer now where the upgraded edition is usually given out for free

Bumping this slightly old thread to echo the sentiment, my account is 16 years old now lol. 2005 - 2009 was peak SC, as a young teen spending time here chatting about Xbox 360 games and trying to farm my way to the top of the scoreboard by answering absolutely every question I could possibly find for GTA games.

I'd still get occassional emails until a few years back saying 'X had commented on your submission' and i'd check my submission, which was 10+ years old at that point.

Crazy how 'irrelevant' forums have gotten over the years, couldn't have imagined how social media would have changed since I used to visit. Reddit is now every forum combined into one place. Forums on a number of sites are a barren wasteland in comparison.

I'd love to see SuperCheats join the ranks of Kotaku or Gamespot as 'serious' game journalists but I guess the site admins dont have the manpower for it anymore. (Should any admins be around to read this, i'd be happy to jump on board with any plans anyone might have on this topic)

Thanks for keeping the forums up though, this place is always a nice trip down memory lane.

Yeah, 2008 to even 2012 were pretty great. Lots of activity. But then again, not much competition. lol

I turned off the emails when someone would comment a while back. Too many Pokemon Trade requests. lol

Yeah, Reddit, Discord, Facebook, and Twitter have pretty much take over everything. lol

Not sure the site will ever get serious about game journalism. Most of the traffic visit just to read a walkthrough or see an answer to a question about a game they also have, and then they leave. But you could always run it by Rich.

Yeah to be honest there are so many other places to get game news that I don't think it's worth the effort to try and break in to that area. If I'm not using the forums I'm using SC for the full guides. I hate watching videos for walkthroughs but I also don't really like the raw text files of old walkthroughs. So the guides with formatted text and images are really nice.

Yeah, I don't really ever use video walkthroughs. But then again, I really only play Pokemon. It isn't rocket science. XD

I play some JRPGs and point and clicks and sometimes especially with the older ones it gets to be a bit much with figuring out what to do next. I just don't always want some annoying 15 minute video with dumb commentary that I have to scrub thru to find the 10 seconds I need.

Haha, I don't think there's any worry about that stuff nowadays. We quintuple post sometimes over in the NFL threads.

Guess I'll throw my hat in the ring. Not sure why my email specifically sent me a notification today, but here I am.

SC was where I ran to amidst all the clickbait titles trying to explain how to get a Shaymin. I desperately wanted a Shaymin but I didn't have money at the time to pay for someone to trade me one or however those deals worked. So I ended up on Warrior's Pokemon shop thread and then... well, the rest is history I suppose. I know I was on the latecomer side because I bet I'm a solid 5-15 years younger than most of you guys but honestly I would look forward every day to checking new messages here for a good while. I'm glad for whatever ping brought me back here today!
