I understand. I bit the bullet up front because I wanted to see them. Crazy easy, but still enough fun for the, what was it, thirty five bucks. Also nice that you can do it on two saves games with the Switch.

I completely agree. So many possibilities. But it usually seems like executives, no matter what series (whether tv or game), don't know what fan base what's to see. I understand wanting to stick with your own ideas, but it would still be nice to throw us a bone every now and then. But I guess why would they since they always make good sales.

That's why I never get overly excited or set high expectations. If they turn out to be somewhat busts, I'm not bummed.

They know they're gonna sell like crazy no matter what so why bother. Not a mindset I agree with but one I understand. At the bare minimum you at least know that you're going to get the same general experience in every game, which is enough for most people.

Exactly. Like I wish they would actually take a moment to think and look into what fans would like to see in upcoming games - a poll wouldn't hurt - but I don't see that happening since sales are always good no matter what. Whether Pokemon Fans are upset about a prior game, they still more often than not buy the next one (especially if it's a new generation).

We buy them hoping that they've snuck in something new. I still like the recent games, I liked Sword. Sometimes a familiar comfortable experience is nice especially with a long-running series. But yeah, a poll or survey or browsing social media or something would be nice. Just toss a bit of a bone to the hardcore players. Add a difficulty mode or something where higher levels means trainers have more items and more varied Pokemon. Give us in-game modifiers so we don't know exactly what moves are super-effective immediately. Let us turn on a Nuzlocke rule. All kinds of little things could be done with what seems like the tiniest effort. I don't want the core experience to change; I just want it to evolve a bit, not go backwards like Sw/Sh

OMG, I would love Nuzlocke and Wonderlocke (game could simply trade the Pokemon you catch with a random Pokemon in the game's coding) Modes. Would be epic.

The closest thing we ever got to that was in B2/W2 right? Where you could set the difficult, right? Or am I thinking about another game?

Yeah BW2 had Challenge mode but you could only use it after beating the game once, so there wasn't much point. I think it raised opponent levels very slightly and improved the AI.

Now I remember. Yeah, pretty pointless by then. lol

i love pokemon diamond and pearl so i may actually buy the switch just for those remakes.

If you like handheld systems, you could always go with the Switch Lite. It is also cheaper.

Gross. For some reason I just hate the design of the handheld Switch. For some reason it's just very slightly too big to be perfectly comfortable in my hands. It really makes me mad lol.

I love it, but I have huge hands and have always preferred handhelds.

I haven't tried a switch lite which I think is a bit smaller than the normal one. I always just play in docked mode. Plus I don't really go anywhere where it would make sense to bring the Switch with me.

Next up will be Snap. I wonder how it will play on a handheld. Hopefully just as good.

Ah, I've got no interest in Snap. It looks nice, but I think it's gonna be really short. Too on-rails for me.

I've gotten get it just for Nostalgia.

Same here. Arceus two months after worries me though, makes me think BD/SP won't have anything special. I'm hoping I'm wrong, but it feels like Arceus is going to be the bigger of the two now more than ever.

I'm not expecting anything beyond a straight port of D/P with a fresh coat of paint. I gotta say the current Nintendo art style that they've been using for Sword/Shield and Animal Crossing and now this game and presumably Arceus just isn't great for me. It's in this weird inbetween of cartoon and 3d models with all these bright colors that kind of seems soulless.

I don't really mind any of the graphics, but that's because I'm more about the plot and getting to use new Pokemon (with each new generation). I'm sort of wishing they had just done one game focused around Arceus as the 4th Gen Remake instead of BP/SP & Legends, but I guess they're going for quantity. I would've loved a storyline revolving around stopping Galatic while somehow catching the Lake Guardians and all three of the Creation Trio with the Hall of Origin as the ultimate gift at the end of the story for doing so.

What they should've done was remaster Platinum instead. What they're going to do is make the Platinum content a $30 DLC. Now that they've figured out DLC we won't be getting the 3rd game anymore.
