I've got so many different family and friends across all these subscriptions I really can't keep track anymore. It might be different if you're on different continents though.

That's what I'm thinking steelersrock01, is there any way we can find out for sure. I really don't want to get anyone into trouble.

I can't even see Showtime as an option on my TV. I have all the others like Netflix, Disney, Prime, YouTube etc but no Showtime.

From a quick Google it seems like Showtime is only in the USA, so you would have to use a VPN and connect to a USA server and watch it on your computer. Whether it's worth the trouble or not is up to you, IMO it's really simple, but I've literally never heard of anyone getting into any kind of trouble for this kind of thing.

Lol, steelersrock01, it may sound simple to you, I'm afraid I don't know what a VPN is or how to connect to a US server.

Lol. It really is simple. A VPN is a Virtual Private Network, a program you run on your computer that in this case makes your Internet traffic appear as if it's coming from somewhere else. So every device on the Internet has an IP address that is a unique identifier for that device and includes some info about it, namely the location of the device. So if you found out my IP address was (for example) 155.65.78.100 you could type that address into an IP lookup tool and it would tell you my device is in New Jersey, USA and give you a town roughly nearby where I live. That's how all these websites know where you're browsing from.

What a VPN does is essentially act like a middle man between you and the internet. So you connect to the Internet through the VPN, and in the VPN program you choose a country to connect to. So if I connected to, say, a Spanish server, it would give me a different IP address like 244.57.68.154. And if you looked up that number it would tell you my device is actually in Spain.

This is how people access different Netflix catalogues and the such. Like if Netflix Japan had a specific movie I wanted to watch I could connect to a Japanese VPN server and trick Netflix into thinking I'm actually in Japan.

Thanks steelersrock01, that's interesting, I didn't know that.

Just curious, what was the Japanese film you wanted to see? The only Japanese movie I have seen that has been half decent was the Seven Samurai.

Oh nothing specific lol. That was just an example. The only Japanese stuff I've really been exposed to is anime and some clips of old Kurosawa films.

Sounds like Dennis might have to wait. I did not know Showtime eas regional. It will be worth the wait, hopefully.

I read an article saying that the new season answers a lot of questions. I also heard that the humour from the original series does not work in this latest instalment that has come out over a decade later. Not sure what is mean't by that.

Yeah, answered a lot of questions right off the bat and now are building the new story. I find some things more humorous than others; I don't know why people would expect all of his one-liners to be funny.

It was the smarmy grin Dexter walked around with that made me laugh, fooled everyone except Doakes. The whole department is out looking for a mass serial killer and he was working and socialising with them. That was part of the charm of the series. Does the new series have that element of humour?

I think it has the same humor, but a little bit less of it. He has some one liners, but you have to remember that it's ten years later and he's been living the lie without killing.

The only thing that I wonder about is how they are going to approach the main killer. As you might remember, each season of Dexter had that main killer arc (Ice Truck killer was first season, Dexter/Doakes was technically the killer of the second, the District Attorney guy that got hooked to killing was the main killer of the third season, and the Trinity Killer was the main killer of the fourth season). I think we are six episodes in of New Blood, and Dexter has already discovered the main killer without any investigating since he's been killing for as long as he has.

Another thing I wonder about is what they will do moving forward if the series is renewed. Believing a huge city like Miami having all these killers is one thing, but a small rural area in New York having more than one? I'm not sure about that one.

How is Dexter getting rid of the bodies? When he was in Miami he dumped them in the ocean, what is he doing in New York. Only a matter of time before one body is found and it leads to a mass burial site. Dexter if I recall likes to take all his bodies to a specific place.

If Dexter has already discovered the killer at this early stage you know there is going to be a twist, maybe the killer didn't work alone.

Dexter has only killed two people thus far, but the second he just caused to overdose since it was someone the police were going to arrest. The first he killed, done so by his routine with a knife blow to the chest, is the son of the main killer. Pretty good story. No ocean so he buried him under the fire pit in his front yard. I guess that works. lol

Oh, the killer definitely works alone. And he has one of the best killing routines ever for the series. The actor who plays him is the main police guard in Shawshank Redemption.

I know the guy, that's Clancy Brown, he has done a ton of film and TV work over the years. I remember him in The Guardian with Kevin Costner and most recently in the Mandolorian where he played the role of Berg.

Dexter's getting sloppy, burying the body in his front yard is foolish, that's the first place the police will check if they suspect him.

Yeah, that is why Dexter ended up discarding the body in a nearby incinerator. lol

But that has come back to bite him now. I will not spoil it, but it is getting good. Last nights episode was another short one, but it had some oh s*** moments.
