I have only see the Yankees In Minneapolis. Tried going during Jeters last year, but, naturally, he sat out that game. Got a nice view of Ichiros butt though for most of the game. lol

I haven't been to Yankee stadium or out to LA, but New York City has really cleaned up its act in the past couple decades. Nothing to worry about these days. A major league baseball stadium is just a great atmosphere to spend a summer day in. Hoping to get to a few Phillies games this year.

My brother's moving out to San Diego for his girlfriend's work, so maybe I'll get a chance to go out there and see something too.

St. Louis is only three hours away from me now, so I might go to a Cards/Cubs eventually. Cubs have to get better first though. lol

My Pops recently decided to take a promotion that will see him transfer to Nashville, so I might move there down the road to be closer to the folks. They are getting older, and my brother and I usually try to stay near them just to check up on them every now and again. Sisters all have families back in the southwest, so it is kinda the two of us or nothing. I still work remote, which makes it easier for me. Wish both of them would retire, but I think my mom might go stir crazy if she does too soon (which I am sure would cause my dad to go just regular crazy). lol

Do you get crowd violence in US stadiums?

Terrible problem in the UK with soccer. The reason I don't go any more. I went to one game some years back where trouble just erupted, and before I knew what was happening the surge of the crowd had forced me onto the pitch. Next thing I know mounted police are charging towards us swinging their batons. Wasn't a pleasant experience. Luckily I managed to get away unscathed. It makes me laugh that the news report hat was shown to the nation doesn't show the police swinging their batons

That is crazy.

I know violence happens sometimes, but I do not think it is that often in the US. Guessing most have to do with too much alcohol intake.

If you venture into London on a Saturday afternoon and use the subway you are taking your life into your own hands. There are about six or seven football teams in moving around central London at that time and fights kick off everywhere.

I have to laugh. The Guardian Angels, some kind of American paramilitary organization that rides the subway preventing trouble came to London because of the bad reputation of the subway have decided to take Saturday afternoons off. Their red berets are nowhere to be seen. I don't blame them to be honest. Not much they can do when two hundred drunk soccer hooligans decide they want to have a fight at a train station.

I've never seen any trouble at any sports event I've been at. Some trash talk that can get a little nasty, but nothing physical. There's a couple stories every year but it's always form alcohol.

Warrior, that's cool if you move round Nashville. I'm still in Jersey but work remote too so I can pretty much go anywhere I can afford. Thinking about leaving but don't know where I'd go and don't have any friends anywhere else except a few in NYC and I'm not moving there.

Yeah, same here. I basically just go where my folks go these days, or at least somewhere near enough to them where it is not a huge drive.

My mom is from Jersey. I went there once or twice as a child, but that was decades ago. Have not been back those grandparents of mine passed away. No one left there now except my moms sister and aunt. Got my mom, dad, and aunt tickets to a Giants preseason game a few years back when my folks went out for a visit. They loved it, and no sketchy stuff at all.

The Giants play way up in the north, if your mom's from around East Rutherford that's a good 3, 3 and a half hours from me lol. I'm down in the way south part. Very rural. Not what people think of when they think Jersey at all. But there's just nothing here.

My mom grew up in Midland Park. Have no idea where it is without looking at a map. lol

My parents met in New Jersey, they actually worked with each other after finishing college. My dad grew up in Iowa and went to college in Missouri, but was picked up at a job fair and relocated to Jersey for it. My two older sisters were born in Jersey.

Funnily enough, my parents moved to Nashville for my dads new job after the place they were working at was sold to another company, and that was where I was born. I have no memories of Nashville since my parents would move to Texas (where my younger sister and young brother were born) and then New Mexico less than a year after I was born in order to be closer to my dads side of the family. Would kind of be full circle I guess for me to be back in Nashville. lol

That's a cool stories. Crazy how far people would move for a job especially back in the day before the internet was huge. Midland Park is way, way up there. North of NYC. I've only been up that way one time to see a friend from college. Nice area but super busy.

That's a lot of moving around. I've lived in the same area my whole life, except the 4 years I was away at school. And even that was less than 2 hours from home. I'd like to get out a bit.

I've only ever lived in London and Barcelona, I found moving to another area I am unfamiliar with one of the most stressful things in my life. It took me over a year until I became comfortable. This is before smart phones and Google maps, I was terrified if I went out in the car I would never find my way back home.

Everybody I know who had to relocate because of their job were given a serious amount of money to make the move worthwhile.

Yeah, quite a bit of moving. But my dad has worked his way up the restaurant ladder, been an airport concessions director the last third of his career. ABQ International first, Des Moines recently, and upcoming Nashville.

That's a pretty cool niche to be in. He works in the airports themselves?

Yeah, he oversees all the restaurant operations in the airport. Nashville is expanding their terminals and will be adding new concessions.

I don't know about the US but in Spain if you work for the airport you get cheap flights with over 100 different airlines.

I'm sure he gets some kind of perk. Free food at least?

I'll be surprised if he doesn't get discounted flights.

I'm trying to get a job at Barcelona airport now. I've only got thirteen years before I retire and I fancy doing something different. I've worked alone in a room for the last twenty years behind a computer and now feel like getting a job where I will meet different people each day.
