I just finished it (AGAIN) - I got ALL 201 treasures - AND I DIDN'T LOSE A SINGLE PIKMIN!!!!!

What is a golden ball? Anyone know?

the "GOLDEN BALL" is basically a thing you find SOMEWHERE in the game and when you bring it to the ship it spawns a golden flower that you throw 5 pikmin in to get a leader pikmin. I have no idea how it works and found no action replay or anything for it. I think its a myth or something, if you find it give me a full description!

There IS a golden ball, but only in pikmin 1! If you defeat Smoky Progg, you will get it.

I looked it up on wikipedia. The golden ball gives you 100 pikmin of whichever colour onion you take it to.

I'll give you some hints on beating Smoky Progg. He killed 102 of my pikmin! Always throw the pikmin as close to his head as possible. A certain part of his body causes pikmin to die when they land on it. Unlike most creatures, Smokey Progg is smart. It will make a toxic puddle on one of 1 of the onion's legs, meaning that you would lose one third of the pikmin you called out. Up to day 15 in the distant spring, the Progg's egg is on an island. Do not destroy the egg or the golden ball will disappear. That's all I know. There is only one smoky progg and its attack ability is excellent. I beat it yesterday and you seem to be better than me (cos I had my a** kicked by titan dweevil) so good luck!

persssssonal ssssstory: i had a half-of-day war with the sssssmoky progg and lossssst over 1/2 of my 700 pikmin army. my redsssss were the sssssquad who finally killed it. UNFORTUNATLY the walnut fell into water and i only had a sssssoal blue sssssurviver. i LOSSSST the walnut becaussssse of it. *snaps back*

pikmin 2's "golden ball". all i am about to tell you is a roumor i got from someone who has a relative who is a programmer for nintendo who was assigned the pikmin 2 job.
you are supposed to cover the entire pikmin above ground world with 20 of each kind. you then use the ultra spicy spray on ALL the pikmin. you then travel the world and if you are retartedly lucky a pikmin will find and pluck an invisible grass. it is in a random spot. the grass will pull up a golden ball. the pikmin will then break free of you and carry it back to the ship-site. the pikmin will then throw the ball inbetween the 3 onions. it will drop so hard a cave will open up. if you go in... *dun dun duuuun*... you may never come out.(due to hardness of cave) you will be in a cave of 100 floors and with enemies that if you touch, the game will turn off, and the game disk deletes the golden ball. on floor 99 you face a giant rock-guard and louie will be killed here. THIS MUST BE DONE BEFORE DEBT IS PAID!!! 0n floor 100 you will find a beam of light and a golden flower there. throw in all of your pikmin in this order:red purple white yellow blue. YOU ALSO CAN'T LOOSE A SINGLE PIKMIN HERE!!! then the flower will spit out a golden seed and it MUST be plucked when at flower state. it will take 30 minutes for a gold. then the golden pikmin will use magic to take olimar out of the cave. olimar will fly away forever and you play as the golden pikmin. at the end of the day, the golden pikmin makes a gold onion.
