Most of these suck.
THIS IS HOW IT'S DONE, BITC
.HES!
Name - Pokemon *insert colour here*
Story - Ten years after the events of Gold and Ruby, Team Rocket return, this time in Hoenn/Shinnoh (one colour game is set in Hoenn, the other in Shinnoh, so you don't have two games that are exactly the same!). Since the Hoenn/Shinnoh police are used to dealing with useless ***
.got teams like Team Magma/Aqua/Galactic they were caught COMPLETELY by surprise and Team Rocket take over both regions easily.
Some time later, Hoenn/Shinnoh have turned into crime-filled hellholes. The streets are no longer safe to walk at night (and risky by day). The routes are filled with smaller gangs, muggers, and whatnot. The Elite Four are Team Rocket Administrators. The Gym Leaders are local Team Rocket leaders who act as crime kingpins in the town/city they occupy.
You are an ex-police officer living in Twinleaf/Littleroot Town, the only town safe from Team Rocket's influence, in hideout, as all former law enforcers have been hunted down and imprisoned/murdered. After years without using a pokemon, you find an abandoned Master Ball whilst taking a walk in the woods. It is broken and empty, but you quickly repair it. All of a sudden, three pokemon attack you from one side, and a Team Rocket Grunt (who will act as your rival) attacks from the other. You quickly choose one of the three pokemon to catch with the Master Ball (choose between the three Hoenn starters or Shinnoh starters, depending on which game you are playing), the Team Rocket Grunt catches one of the two remaining, the third flees, and you battle the Team Rocket Grunt and kick his a
.ss. He drops five PokeBalls as he runs, swearing revenge.
Sick of Team Rocket's dictatorship, and with a pokemon at your side, you vow to take them down.
OBJECTIVES:
- Collect eight 'Kingpin Badges' from the local Team Rocket rulers, before heading off to the Pokemon League to deal with the big guns.
- Whilst travelling the land, resolve conflicts, save the innocent from mistreatment, and jeopardise various Team Rocket missions.
- Catch as many pokemon as possible to power yourself up even more.
- After Hoenn/Shinnoh is saved, you will have the option to travel to Kanto/Johto, where Team Rocket is trying to restore its former influence.
FEATURES:
- Towns, cities and routes are different depending on the time of day. For example, if you visit Canalave City by day, most of the people you'll see are ordinary civilians who are kind and helpful. However, if you visit Canalave City by night, then you are very susceptible to being attacked by criminal gangs/Team Rocket members, and the streets are full of gangs, pirates, prostitutes and whatnot. For the full experience of the game, you need to visit everywhere by both day and night (possibly some differences in morning/evening too, such as, at around 6:00 AM, you can see some hungover pirates boarding their ship to set sail).
- Adult theme. Your character is an adult, and the game has a much darker storyline than the kidsy ones of Pokemon games past. It explores the brutal realities of what it would really be like if a criminal organisation took over a nation.
- Game #1 is set in Hoenn, then later Kanto, whilst game #2 is set in Shinnoh, then later Johto. So you have two completely different games, as opposed to two that are exactly the same.
- Increased difficulty. AI is smarter and regular trainers are more likely to have evolved pokemon if the levels are correct (for example, no more Youngster with a level 30 Rattata - he'll have had the sense to evolve it into Raticate). Plus, the game will have mechanics so that enemy trainers' pokemon levels are the same as the average level of your party, except for Gym Leaders, Gym trainers, and the Elite Four, for obvious reasons.
- No more trade evolutions. All pokemon that don't require evolution stones to evolve will evolve via level up (for example, Haunter > Gengar at level 35). Evolution stones can be purchased at a store in the city where the sixth gym is found.
Now, wouldn't they be the best pokemon games ever?
