Obi wan - possibility of the chosen one?

lol. What I think is, it's what you carry out that makes you what you are i.e. Anakin did the actions to be "The One" whereas Obi-Wan more of influenced it.

If Obi Wan wasn't there Anakin would never have been trained and therefore Anakin couldn't of been the chosen one if Obi Wan wasn't there.

Well I don't know. I think even if Obi-Wan wasn't there, they might've still carried out Qui-Gon's "Will" considering he was still a highly respected Master.

He was a maverick. Respected, but he liked to do things his own way. They didn't trust him when he wanted Anakin trained. And they were still very reluctant to let Obi Wan train him.

True. When Anakin was a apprentice to Obi Wan even then Obi still had his padawan tail.

Yes, but he had actually been granted the rank of Knight. They just hadn't had the special ceremony of upgrading to Knight.

Obi Wan was fairly young to be knighted, so would that add too the possibly of chosen one?

Actually it was simply because he had defeated a Sith for the first time in over 1000 years.

And he didn't sumbit to the dark side. A loss can bring you close to the dark side. In order to achieve the rank of Knight, in the Old Republic (4000 years before Obi Wan's knighting) The tests were to construct your own lightsabre (Which he had done,) Resist the temptation of the dark side, and defeat someone in lightsabre combat. They followed by the old tests instead (strangely) and granted him knight.

Yeah considering Yoda did change the rules slightly. Though I think it's because he has put so much effort into the Jedi order.

Yeah, I suppose. But I have proof that Anakin ain't no chosen one. Shmi Skywalker had a husband before she had Anakin. She wasn't a virgin. The prophecy says that Anakin would be born to a virgin mother.

You realise virgin means you haven't had sex. She may have had a husband, but it doesn't mean she had sex with him.

Anakin is the chosen one. Whether you think he deserves to be or not, it was him that destroyed the sith - it doesn't matter how artificial he is or if you think he didn't deserve it. Obi-Wan is the true hero throughout the movies, but the prophecy stated there would be a person to bring balance to the force - and that was Anakin (which would make a lot of sense if the force created him).

I don't realy think Obi-wan is the chosen one because if he was in episode 4 he wouldn't of died

Just because your dead doesn't mean you aren't the chosen one. In any case, he hadn't actually passed on to the afterlife world for he became one with the Force.

Anikin is the chosen one because well obi-wan dies!

So did Anakin. They both did. In fact to be precise Obi-Wan became one with the Force and so technically didn't die. He merely changed "physicality".

Yeah but anakin brought balince to the force so he's the chosen one.

Ah, but the argument is that can one act really out balance umpteen others? Hard to say really.
