Nikki isn't the best active one to have, just a heads up. Yumi in my opinion is best to use.

Nikki is the best when first going into Stacked Deck because she has a Tier 3 car while you win some more cars.

I'm using Nikki now, she works wonders I must say. I slingshoted off of her at like 189 MPH and NOS'ed to 201 during a Speedtrap.

I've only used drafting once. I mainly use the wingman because they have fast cars, even at the start.
