The "Beginning" of the Unniverse...if there was one.

There are 3 theories of how the unniverse began:
1) God created it and everything that you see before yours and our own very eyes.
2) The big bang theory.
3) An infinite regress of the big bang theory, big freeze, big crush, big band, etc.
What do you guys reckon?

That's true because scientists can show evidence of a big bang, but does it explain if it's an infinite regress? The third theory.

well for god to create the universe the must of been an alternate universe for him to exist while he made this

Not necessarily. It just means he had to be pretty powerful and something outside this unniverse, but not necessarily in another one.

Well, I have most definately seen this topic twice before...
Anyway, I believe it is God. I am not saying that the others didn't heppen, but it's just what I believe. I will not contradict anybody else here tho lol.

lol. So what you're saying is he sort of created the big bang and what not.

I can't say entirely of course, but one thing I believe is that god USED science, not only for teh big bang(if that's what happened) but for other things, such as evolution. Basically science was a factor in the creation... it's a possibility.

The second one. And actually they don't have proof, it hasn't been tested, but it's a hell lot more realistic than God.

Besides. If all we tried to work out was our future then what would honestly be the whole point in this? The past is fascinating to be frank. And there are things, also frankly, to be learned from the past. How to prevent these wars we're seeing from happening. It's endless.

Few things wrong with each theory...

1) The representation of "god" is different for all people, and for those who don't believe in a god (which is fine), they cannot use this theory to explain the universe.

2) What was there before the big bang? Where did the matter for the big bang come from?

Well yeah studying wars in the few last centuries is cool, but how will the creation of the universe help us at all...

What johnkrill said about the second one. How can they back up the big bang theory? That might explain the outward movement of the universe, but that can't explain how everything was created. I believe that God did it, but I'm a religious person.

If that were true, the big bang could not be created.

I am religious, so I believe the God theory. Besides, like Johnkrill said, where did the chemicals needed for the Big Bang come from?

I think God was just all of a sudden there... and he created the universe.

I pretty much go with the Big Bang Theory.

If I were to go with my own, I'd say that nothing is ever dead or never there. If you look at all the moments of the history of the universe, then the universe has always been there. I believe that our feeble human minds make us think is sequence of events and not how time should be looked at... Time is all the time, not just what we see at one time. Overall, I think that the Universe has always been there, because all time should be viewed as all time, not in sequence.

Personally, I reckon that in order for everything to happen, the past must act like the future, if you catch my drift? How do we know that the past isn't as infinite as the future? Like a rewinding movie that never ends. There could have been a God that created God. And one before that God, untill infinite. It's a possibily. If you aren't religeous you could still put the same theory to a different test. It could be infinite that something caused the big bang and that something created that etc. My personal belief.
