Everything you need to know about Pal Park transfering is on serebii.net and wikipedia.com All of the information provided on those site including this one is correct information as far as I know from having the game myself.
I have Pokemon Pearl in Japanese and I also had Fire Red in Japanese and once you choose the six that you want to transfer from the GBA. They are then transfered to D/P via Pal Park...You have to catch them in D/P Pal Park, if you catch them in a fast time you get a special berry.
Once transfered to D/P that pokemon will remain on D/P and CANNOT be transfered back to any of your GBA games. They will remain with the same stats and any hold item that you transfered them with along with original trainer's name.
Additionally. Any of the GBA Pokemon games unclock ceratin pokemon in D/P in areas noted on serebii.net. The only pokemon that are not on D/P and you HAVE to transfer is all pre 4th generation starters and their evolutions and all pre 4th generation Legendaries ie...Mew, Kyogre, Deoxy etc.
Edit:
I hope that helps all understand the Transfering not trading of the GBA pokemon to D/P. If not...you can check out various websites to find the information I just written in a more vast detail and account.
