Almost Uncatchable Pokemon

Okay, i was on a shiny pokemon hunt, and i found a sneasel in the four island ice cave. It wasnt shiny and i wanted to catch it anyway because i didnt have one. It was at level 30, and i sent out my first pokemon, level 64 dewgong and it was at full health. I immediately threw an ultraball at it, and i almost got it. At the end of the battle when i caught it, i had wasted about 30 balls out of the 150 that i had. My dewgong only had 6 health at the end of the battle when i caught it. I was relieved and i roamed around again, looking for shinies. I found a level 29 swinub, so i threw an ultraball and it immediately got caught. What is up with that?

The computer program I guess is based on chance so that means it's mostly by chance you get stuff.

try weakening the pokemon before you catch them
but maybe because sneasel is the final evolution and swinub evolves into a different pokemon that its makes it easier
maybe its just teh fact that the swinub was a weakling
but this catching thing is based on luck as far as i know, you probably just got really unlucky with that sneasel

Its random like that. I was playing pokemon colosseum once, and when i was aobut to snag the skarmory, i reduced it to like 4 or 5 hp, and had it paralyzed. I threw 20 greatballs, still didn't catch it. I got annoyed, restarted the game, attacked skarmorty till it was down to yellow... Then threw one great ball, and it was caught.

It's wierd.

its like legendary pokemon, you can throw many ultraballs at it and never catch it, but get it first time the next time

some pokemon can get caught easier because maybe their stats arent as high as another pokemon's so it wouldnt be able to get out as easy

speaking of hard-to-catch pokemon,in FireRed,i caught the only mewtwo in the game with a premeire ball.IT`S TRUE.it was f*****g harder than freezing hell over would be.I must have thrown over 100 premiere type pokeballs and battled mewtwo for at least an hour or two.IM SERIOUS ABOUT THIS GUYS.believe it or not i barely managed to catch it.I SWEAR on the grave of my soul that im telling the truth!

^some people have all the luck, once on pokemon crystal it took 2 days (about 7, or 8 hours in total) to catch a lugia...consider yourself lucky
