I hope this time around if they will go back to the way it was in Fe on Gba, where magic was for mages and strength was for melee guys. Giving magic to a wyvern lord was really useless lol.
I found i did not use most of the units you get after about chapter 15 or so.

I agree, I never used the bolt axe or flame lance because all of my lance/axe users always had rubbish magic. Giving sages knives was also pointless since their strength cap was 15.

I hope we get some more Dragons. I was playing around on the last chapter with only Nasir and Ike, and i actually won with two guys lol.I gave Nasir all these different abilities(wrath, counter, the one that lets you attack first and the one that gives you bonuses after youget 1/2 hp)
I actually never added any skills during my earlier play throughs for some reason.

Ermac - Tanith's Magic was pretty good, so when I couldn't be bothered training up Marcia I gave Tanith the Flame Lance. I don't recall having ever used the Bolt Axe though.

Zaltias - There are four Dragons you can recruit in Goddess of Dawn - Nasir, Ena, Kurthnaga and Gareth. And yes, this time around you can have both Nasir and Ena in the same playthrough.

You also fight the Black Dragon King who's ability is black wave, (powers up team mates resistance and speed) that should be a very interesting battle.

I'd like to see a weapon progress bar similar to that of the GBA versions because it was hard to tell how close you were to the next weapon grade.

Just doing some reading on Fe: GoD. 72 recruitable characters..Thats going to be a lot of playthroughs to use them all.
I hope we get the re introduction of the "reaver" weapons.(makes the game more unpredictable)
I'm in favour of a weapon progress bar and maybe making it easier to level weapons up(that was such a pain -.-")

I didn't know there was 72 recruitable characters overall. Apparently some pre-promotes actually surpass most other characters this time around too (such as Shinon and Titania apparently).

Well the game is split into four parts, so I'm guessing you have one army per part.

EDIT: Maybe some units can only be used in certain parts of the game, so you probably won't have 72 units to chose from for the last chapter.

Well the game does have four parts -
Part 1 is Daein Vs Begnion in an attempt to liberate Daein.
Part 2 is Crimea Vs Conspiracy Nobles
Part 3 is Greil Mercs. and Laguz Army Vs Begnion Empire.
Part 4 is Griel Mercs. , Daein and maybe some Laguz? Vs Benion Senate.
So since the last chapter is pretty much all of them uniting to fight it could be (72/3= 24) so around 24 units per Part, give or take a few.

Also you can get a bonus for your characters from PoR (If they get close to max level or something), so maybe pre-promotes from PoR may surpass new GoD units.

Like I said before, some pre-promotes are considerably better this time around.

Support and weapon levels are carried over from PoR data.

Yeah, I know that. Returning units get +2 in every stat too.

I wonder how the new third tier classes will function?
what do you think the chances are that the enemy has them as basicc soldiers as well as boss units?

They'll be more powerful than second class, just as second were more powerful than first.

I'm guessing only boss units will be third class (maybe a few enemies right near the end) because they'll probably get a second stat boost when they change class again.

This game is sounding really good. Can't wait to play, though they havn't got a confirmed release date for PAL regions.

I'd love to use Swordmaster, General, Wyvern Lord and Sage 3rd tier...think of the ownage =)

I never liked Swordmasters in Path of Radiance, but I heard Edward and Mia are supposed to be good in this game. Third tier Warrior is more appealing, and third tier Wyvern Lord.

The only issue i ever really had with swordmasters was the lack of variety in weapons.
Third tier Wyvern Lord would be awesome, as a Wyvern Lord with Full Guard was nearly unstoppable. Third tier Warrior sounds cool, but fo third tier classes get a new weapon skill, or do they just get stat improvement + Occult skill?

The bad things about Swordmasters in Path of Radiance:

Swords were the weakest weapon in the game, with the exception of Knives.

In addition, Swordmasters' Strength stat capped at a poor 24, and it was difficult to get any of them to that Strength anyway.

Swordmasters had poor HP, Defence and Resistance, and later on in the game (especially on Difficult) they could easily be killed in about two hits.

And the good points:

Excellent Speed and Skill, and easy to cap both stats.

Almost guarenteed to double-attack most enemies.

High critical hit rates.

Cool hairstyle.

I still think the good points aren't good enough to overcome the bad points though.

Weapon skill? You mean like they can wield another weapon? If so, I don't think so, but the weapon level increases if its not at the standard level for the thrid tier class, much like all Sages in Path of Radiance had their weapon levels moved up to a D if they weren't in the first place.

Cool hairstyle is 100% a good point =)

They alright if they had vantage and a high critical, but you then had to sacrifice Astra. But they weren't one of the better units. Near the end you mainly needed tanks or units with good speed and Hp.

I never liked Swordmasters because they cannot take down generals or tigers easily and recieve a shed load of of damage from them. They're just too fragile.
