RE: Rotom; Legend or Not?

First of all, I'm going to burn this message into your brain, whatever it takes. I DID NOT make the ORIGINAL THREAD. The topic was very interesting to me, and since it's gone deep into the forums, I wanted to bring it back, for the sake of debate.

Now, to the topic. I've heard arguements about whether Rotom is a Legend or not. Here, post your reasons why its a Legend (or why its not). I shall keep votes as well as I can, so don't go berserk on me, or the vote system is off.

I say Rotom is not a legendary, but just rare. In fact, Rotom is basically the same as Drifloon, in my opinion. Unlike any other legendaries, Rotom can breed, and it doesn't have as high stats as other legends.

Just a reminder, but you should be responsible enough to know these rules by heart. No spamming, flaming, flame-baiting, advertising, ETC.

Because of pure laziness, I have taken the vote system off. Most of you don't have the attention span of looking through the entire thread anyway. (No offense)

I, personally, believe that Rotom is a legendary.

He can't be compared to Drifloon, because Drifloon appears every Friday, while Rotom is only in that TV once.

And just because he can breed doesn't mean he can't be a legendary. Manaphy can breed with Ditto, and even though a Manaphy isn't the result, it is still breeding.

I do not think Rotom is a legendary. Just because it appears once, doesn't mean it's a legendary. It's like Ditto from RBY, and Beldum from RSE. Besides ... It's stats suck...

The game meant him to be a legendary (the music says so), he must be a legendary.

Status wise, I suppose you can argue he's far from strong enough. You'd also be placing Mew in the non-legendary area with that one, though.

"In other games" is a circular argument. In other games you can only get starters once each. They aren't legendary.

"In this game" you can get Eevee more than one time, where as you can't get more than one legend period without cheating.

Fact remains, Rotom is a legendary. Variable, he doesn't deserve to be.

The thing with Eevee is that, while yes you can only get one in certain games, he isn't a legend because he can evolve not just one way, but seven now. It is a known fact that legendary Pokémon are only available once and don't evolve. And Rotom fits both of those classifications.

I say he isn't a legend, he's simply rare and one of a kind.
If he were a legendary we'd see him being used a lot more on wi-fi.

He isn't used more often in Wi-Fi battles because everyone is torn about whether or not he is lgendary.

That statement just went BEYOND all reason. If he isn't a legend, I won't use him, if he is a legend, I'd still won't use him. Your statement pretty much means that if a pokemon isn't a legendary or if people aren't sure if its a legendary or not, people don't use it. I'm not saying thats what you meant, but that's what your statement means.

P.S. Darkraiarceus911, if you want to make a vote, please state it as obvious as you can, I don't want to make mistakes and make others upset.

I did not mean that people will not use a Pokémon if it isn't a legendary. I am saying just with Rotom. He is not completely understood. So people do not use him.

Im going to Confirm Rotom is NOT legendary. He can Breed. i know Manaphy can aswell but that gets you Phione.
Breed Rotom with Ditto to get ANOTHER rotom. and thus resulting Rotom =/= Legendary.

Hey. I have been way too busy with work, and stuff. So the internet has not been on my list of things to do. That is why I am not a mod anymore.

I still say that Rotom is a legend because he is Genderless, which means that it can't be bred, just like the other legends. And you can have more than one Phione if you continually breed Manaphy. So from what you are saying Phione isn't a legendary either because you can have more than one of it from breeding.

Arcanine and Ninetails are classified as being Legendary.
(I'm not sure why)

hey about that ditto in rby where do you find it?

I think Rotom is not a legendary because it's stats is low compare to legendaries.

Off-topic: Ditto can be found on the right route that leads to Fushia City in RBY.

ok about ditto in fushia city that is on leaf green or fire red, i was talking about ruby. and i was trying to ask Teh Dockness, because he was the one who mentioned the ditto only appearing in ruby once. and my coment on the rotom, that i haven't come in contact with it yet and there for i can't say whether i think it is legendary or not.

Low stats doesn't mean it can't be a legendary. Mew's stats aren't high either, but it is still a legendary.
