GTA IV - All you need to know

Just to keep everyone up-to-date here is all that’s been found so far (mostly everything) from GTA fanatics over the world and official releases by Rockstar.
Mostly everything is cooped up into videos, I figured everyone would rather watch a videos instead of reading the usual black & white Text.


The Main Characters

Niko Bellic - In the game you’ll be playing as Niko Bellic – A man from Europe who travels to “the land of opportunity” - America, when his cousin tells him he is living the life of a king. It is said he is Russian.

Roman Bellic – Roman is Niko’s cousin who lived in America before Niko travelled there. He is the one who supposedly persuaded Niko to travel. Roman can be first seen in Trailer #2. (Links below).

Manny Escuela - Manny is a tough-talking community leader from South Bohan as described by Rockstar. From his video biography we see that he is heavily involved in the South Bohan community (legit). Not more is known though some believe he has a back-side that we will see in the game.

Vlad Glebov – Vlad Glebov is a Russian money-lender who is basically “full of his mouth”. In his video biography we can see him with Niko.

Francis McReary – So far only one main point is known about him – he is a cop. Isn’t that enough anyway? Francis supposedly grew up in a tough neighbourhood and is now cleaning up the roughest parts of town with heavy community links.

Deputy Mayor Bryce Dawkins – Nothing at all is known about him although he is the Deputy Mayor. He has a slogan/banner that is posted on the Rockstar GTA IV website which is posted below.

Vehicles

Officials said that in-game the handling of vehicles will be much different than previous GTA games. I.e. This time you won’t be able to drive a top-class car at full speed around a 90 degree angle, just by using the handbrake. GTA stunters worry if they would still be able to stunt and others who are handbrake reliant will this time have to do more of the work with the normal brake. We hope it will change for the better.

Military Helicopter – A black military helicopter has been see in the trailers that looks as if it IS military but not the Apache Military Helicopter (Helicopter with wheels that has rocket launching and minigun capabilities).

Stallion – In trailer 2 the stallion can be seen. It’s a very average and well-known car in GTA but in my opinion in this game it resembles the Sabre/Sabre Turbo.

Maverick – This can also be seen in trailer 2. The Maverick is a basic helicopter. Though we see Niko literally hanging out of it, which shows us a for-coming capability…

Trucks – Niko should also have the ability to hang off the side of trucks as seen in trailer 2.

NRG900RR – The most anticipated vehicle among stunters is this NRG900RR. The NRG was first seen in San Andreas called the NRG500 and was a racing bike resembling something from the MotoGP (because of the number 46 number plate on the front, sides and back, which is the number of a famous MotoGP rider – Valentino Rossi). From my detailed understanding of MotoGP in 2006 the bikes became 990cc engines. In 2007 they dropped to 800cc. So Rockstar could’ve initially made this “in between”. (In the 90’s, where San Andreas is set MotoGP bikes were 500cc hence NRG500)


“People and Places”

Release Date

Yes that’s right, the release date has been confirmed as :

29th of April 2008, in which it will simultaneously be released on PS3 and Xbox 360

Yea then you will get it....lucky.

I might pre-order my copy. About half my school has pre-ordered it, which means they could be out of stock if I don't get to town early.

Oh and High 5 for future GTA IV Xbox players everywhere. We shall have a pwnsome time on LIVE (if I get it working).

Ha ha ha... In Argos(UK) They release it earlier than anywhere else, March the 7th. Thats why It'll be risky. It'll be PACKED...

The game doesn't release worldwide until the 29th of April.

Because it said ot doesn't release anywhere until the release date... maybe that time is the time people who pre-ordered it have to pay the full amoumt.

It said in their catalog, yes.
It was a little green box on GTA IV saying;
'Available from March 7th'
For some reason you can buy it now.... HEre for details.... Wonder why you can buty it now?

12:00 AM on the 29th of April. GAME, will be opening especially for the occassion, as they did for Halo.
