My game has been
acting strange I actually posted a question regarding my character, not
being able to grab the sigil stone in one of the gates to oblivion.
For some unknown reason the grab icon does not appear, so I cannot close
this gate. I have closed about 20 now so I know the routine to close
one. So I stared investigating and found this site, with all my friends
out there having there own problems with this great game. I have not
gotten any positive results yet but what I decided to do was contact the
makers of the game at www.bethesdasoftware.com. I had a reply from them
and what they told me to do was buy a stradegy guide, so I responded
back telling them how is a stradegy guide suppossed to help me in this
situation, when it is the game that is messing up and not my skills in
oblivion, I am at level 45. I am still waiting for a new reply, but I
will keep you guys updated. If you have any questions about the game you
might try contacting them to see what answers you get. My problem is
that we all spent lots of money and time into our games the least we can
get is a straight forward answer and some descent service. Take it easy
my oblivion gang.

Hmm... Either theres a bug with your game and you have to delete your data or there might be like a Quest to do with that portal? Try not closing that portal yet and continuing with the game.

there is known bug that when you try to grab the sigil stone the icon dosent appear no known solutions for it ...although there is no indication that it corrupts your data ....however if it is one of the 3 gates that you HAVE 2 close during the main quest (1-Kvatch 2-near Bruma with the aid of burd 3-Great Gate) then it may make the main quest unable to be finished if its any other gate than one of those three simply leave and never return a bummer but at least not a crippler ....
