The new issue of CoroCoro has been revealed and posted on various japanese imageboards. These issues contain many various bits of data, confirming what we expected and providing new tidbits as we go;
* Pokmon Platinum is set for a September 13th 2008 release in Japan
* You have to face Team Galactic once more, but it seems their plans and HQ have been stepped up a fair bit
* The Battle Frontier returns and takes place in the Fight Area in Sinnoh. There are different areas in the Battle Frontier, their battle quirks are not yet known. However, it does still contain the Battle Tower
* The WiFi area has been enhanced with various areas which support up to 20 people at any one time
* The Poffin making has taken a step up and has a new feature that involves a Swalot machine. You essentially throw berries into its mouth. This can be done over WiFi in the new WiFi area
* The Battle Recorder, an item seen on the Shaymin pictures last week, allows you to record battles that you hold and share them with your friends. This is done at the new & improved GTS in Jubilife City, which has a bigger global terminal
* There is also confirmation of the Shaymin form changes and a note about the Giratina ones. It appears that like in the movie, Giratina's Origin Forme can only be used in the Torn World, and its in its Another Forme elsewhere. It is unknown if there will be an item to use to keep it in its Origin Forme, but the main method will be revealed next month
* Shaymin Sky Forme's ability is Serene Grace. It appears to be more focused in Speed and Special Attack and knows the move Air Slash.
* Giratina's Origin Forme's ability is Levitate.
* The pictures also indicate and confirm new sprites for each Pokmon including Bidoof, Giratina's Another Forme & Shaymin's Land Forme
* Confirmation of the new characters shown last month, one is a member of Team Galactic, and the other is part of an international police force and is hunting Team Galactic

The official yahoo site today added some new videos showing some interesting aspects of Pokmon Platinum, specifically the new sprites as well as showing how large the snow cover is in Sinnoh. These videos also contain explanations into various aspects of Pokmon Platinum, albeit in Japanese. As such, I have screen capped several interesting pictures from the videos and added them to our Picture Gallery. Click the picture to go to it

Pokemon Platinum Gameplay Preview
Early last night, the blue skY blog posted some pictures of what appears to be some sihlouettes of what may be some new Pokmon. It is said that leaflets given with Pokmon Platinum will contain clues regarding them, and that more data will be known from September 28th (2 year anniversary of Diamond & Pearl) to the 4th November. Each of these Pokmon seem to share similar attributes so its possible that they could be alternate forms of a new Pokmon or even an old one. However, as it is known for fakes to crop up, we do not know if this is confirmed yet so watch this space for further news.

Platinum - New Pics & Info
Some scans of what may to be from the upcoming CoroCoro have also reached the internet showing various things, however these things we already know about. It contains some information on the Police Officer hunting down Team Galactic and also shows the new look of three of the gyms. Showing that Eterna Gym has blades which rotate allowing access to various parts of the gym. The flashlight area seen in other videos is also part of a gym, which one is not yet known, and Veilstone Gym also has a new look. Another scan also confirms that Sky Forme Shaymin can learn the attack; Leaf Storm. Click the picture to go to the picture page with the new scan extracts. We'll bring you more as and when it happens

Platinum - Details
Some less than clear pictures of CoroCoro have surfaced, revealing a bit more of the information revealed in CoroCoro this month. Here's a list of the new stuff it has. We'll try and get pictures as soon as possible
* The start of the game runs differently with quicker confrontations with the Rival & Professor Rowan in Route 201 and Lake Verity
* I forgot to note this earlier with the last scans on Thursday, but the police officer is codenamed "Handsome". CoroCoro questions whether he's actually working for Team Galactic or actually hunting them down
* The Battle Tower makes the return, pretty much identical to it's running in Diamond & Pearl; Sets of 7, try to get a streak
* The Battle Factory returns in Sinnoh, working in the same manner as Emerald. Select three Pokmon at the start of battle, all rentals
* Over the GTS's new Global Terminal, it appears you can send some sort of mail to various people, possibly to your friends and maybe even to random people.
* There are several games to be found in the new WiFi room for you to play with your friends. These include Merry Mime Jr. where you control Mime Jr. on a ball the longest, Rapid Wobbuffet and the aforementioned Swalot game
* Confirmation of the sihlouettes was also included. What they are will be more than likely revealed next month.
More is sure to come so be sure to keep checking back

Platinum - New Trailer
Well, a new trailer arose today from Pokmon Festa, as seen on Youtube, which contains new clips of areas that you can get into in Platinum as well as new aspects. The most noteable of which is a double battle with Elite Four member Flint and Sunyshore Gym Leader Volkner. We also see a variety of the new mini-games in the WiFi area including a game where you have to push down on a Wobbuffet head on the touch screen and where you control Mime Jr. who is balancing on a moving ball. There also are shows of various Battle Frontier areas including one where you seem to select from cards which determine various aspects of the battle. There also appears to be another facility similar to the Battle Factory of Emerald. Most of this information appears to be in the missing pages of CoroCoro which we should have scans for shortly so watch this space.
Finally, the larger scans are up and show us the pictures in decent quality. As such, I have extracted them from the scans and added them into our section. No further information was revealed except confirmation of the story change which now involves you meeting Cyrus at Lake Verity at the start of the game. It also confirms that the sihlouettes will be revealed by the game's release. We will likely get pure quality pictures before the end of the week. In the meantime, click the picture to go to the page.
Today, the official site updated with the contents of CoroCoro. This gives us much clearer pictures on all aspects that were revealed and also clarifies certain things. Firstly, the sihlouettes aren't referred to as new Pokmon, but mysterious Pokmon, indicating that they are new forms as we already expect, and also as a plus, that the items to obtain them will be given away in shops AND over the WiFi connection from September 28th to November 4th. We do not know if it will be all at once but we'll keep you aprised so be sure to check back.
Secondly, some further details about the WiFi Room. Firstly, it appears you can only spend a certain amount of time in it each day. When your time is expired, the lights go dim and fireworks and other fun things start happening. The boat will appear and you will leave on it. It is currently unknown how long you can stay in it. You also get Touch Toys in the WiFi Room, controlled on the touch screen where the Poktch would be. These have various effects within the WiFi Room and can be upgraded based upon the scores within the mini-games.
Giratina's Origin Forme also gets the following new attacks; Spite, Outrage & Mud-Slap
As said, I have added the new hi-res pictures to the game's picture gallery. There are some new ones and the rest are improved in quality. Click the picture to go to the page
Platinum Tidbits
A third official site came up today covering the same stuff as before. However, it brought up a few new tidbits and confirmation of certain things. These are all relatively minor but still news worthy
* The Underground is confirmed to be Wireless only and not WiFi
* Over Local Wireless, there is a new feature where you and your friends put in your eggs and it seems to toss them up. From this, it would appear that you will each get a random egg from this. Handy as you'll never know if you'll get a decent Pokmon that evolves into a further decent Pokmon and has various egg moves, or if you'll get a Magikarp
* In the Battle Frontier, there's a stall that sells you scratchcards for your Battle Points. With these scratch cards, you have the ability of getting many items including berries. However, it's random so you could end up with very little
We'll bring you more on Platinum as the release date nears and then our full-blown coverage shall begin.
A new advertisement advertising another bit of Pokmon Merchandise has given the implication that the Sinnoh Dex has been enhanced. According to it, there are 59 further Pokmon in Sinnoh to make the final amount 210. This does not mean for sure however that this is also true in Platinum, but it does seem likely due to many instances within the game such as Giratina being the mascot, Shaymin's Glacidia Flower being available early in the game and so forth. Chances are that these 59 Pokmon comprise of the new Pokmon that were not in the Sinnoh Dex in Diamond & Pearl and any pre-evolutions that they may have. We'll bring you more of this, and hopefully confirmation, when Platinum is released next week
Giratina
Giratina is found right at the end of the Torn World. You should be healed right before your battle with it. However, it's Origin Forme is very powerful. It is at Level 47. Once there, you will see Regigigas asleep in the middle of the floor. Go up to it and it will attack. It is at level 1 so bring your weakest Pokemon to fight it

Here, you need to go up to the statue and... . Registeel will attack. It is Level 30
Pokmon Platinum has the most diverse rang of new Pokmon forms than any other Pokmon game so far. Three Pokmon have new forms all of which were new to the 4th generation. There are a total of 8 New Pokmon Forms in Platinum
#479 Rotom
First we'll tackle Rotom. Rotom is found within the Old Chateau in Pokmon Diamond, Pearl & Platinum at Levels 15, 15 & 20 respectively. Rotom is unique in that it has the ability to possess multiple items. This is done utilising a Key Item called the Secret Key, set to be given over Mystery Gift WiFi from September 28th. We'll bring you more on that date
#487 Giratina
Next is Giratina. Giratina is obtained in an area called the Torn World. In the Torn World, all Giratina are in their Origin Forme. When in the real world, they are in their Another Forme. After you have captured Giratina and defeated the Elite Four. A portal back into another part of the Torn World appears. In this part of the Torn World, you will find an Item called the Platinum Orb.
This item, when attached to Giratina, changes its form to the Origin Forme and boosts the power of Giratina's Ghost & Dragon moves. However, when you go online to connect to past games, the item temporarily disappears. This is due to incompatibility with the game. As it disappears, Giratina reverts back to its Another Forme
Giratina's Forms both have many different attributes including, stats attacks and even ability so it is best that you keep clear in your mind what form has what strengths. Below is a quick and simple rundown.
#492 Shaymin
Finally, Shaymin is the last Pokmon that changes forms. Shaymin is an event Pokmon and as such, there are special circumstances towards changing its form.
In order to get the Key Item called the Glacidia Flower from this girl in Floaroma Town, you need to have the Shaymin given away at the 11th Movie in 2008. With this Shaymin, you get the Glacidia Flower. This item is a Key Item and thus does not require attachment. However, to use it, there are a number of conditions. Firstly, it has to be in the Day, meaning from Between 7am to 8pm. Second, Shaymin cannot be Frozen.
Once used, Shaymin will stay in Sky Forme and there are only two ways to make it revert back. First, you put it in a box and it will rever once you place it in. Secondly, when the time hits 8pm, Shaymin will automatically go back from Sky Forme to Land Forme making Shaymin's Sky Forme a Daytime only Pokmon
Shaymin's Forms also both have many different attributes including, stats attacks and even ability so it is best that you keep clear in your mind what form has what strengths. Below is a quick and simple rundown.
Pics: http://www.serebii.net/platinum/forms.shtml
Like the facilities in Pokmon Emerald, each Battle Frontier building as its own leader whom you battle twice to get medals and even more Battle Points than normal.
Battle Stage
Once you reach a streak of 60 in the Battle Stage, when you go to have your 60th Battle, you will be challenged by the Frontier Brain of the Battle Stage; Keito. Her Pokmon's level match your own. Going in the spirit of the Battle Stage, she doesnt have 1 set Pokmon, but rather one from each type. I'll try and get all of them as soon as I can, but here are the two we know of. Beat her and you get the Silver Medal
Battle Roulette Frontier Brain
Once you reach a streak of 21 in the Battle Stage, when you go to have your 21sth Battle, you will be challenged by the Frontier Brain of the Battle Roulette; Keito. Her Pokmon's level match your own. She has a set team in here so your strategy needs to be augmented by the choice in the Roulette. For example, make it so her Pokmon are losing health each turn. Beat her and you get the Silver Medal
Battle Castle Frontier Brain
Once you reach a streak of 21 in the Battle Castle, when you go to have your 21sth Battle, you will be challenged by the Frontier Brain of the Battle Castle; Cochran. His Pokmon's level match your own. The team he has is not the strongest you will face, but based upon your past battles, if you do not spend CP to heal, you will struggle. Beat him and you get the Silver Medal
Battle Tower Frontier Brain
Once you reach a streak of 21 in the Battle Tower, when you go to have your 21sth Battle, you will be challenged by the Frontier Brain of the Battle Tower; Palmer. His Pokmon's level match your own. The team he has is pretty strong with good defenses so plan a team that can easily defeat his. Beat him and you get the Silver Medal
The Battle Frontier, an area that originated in Pokmon Emerald makes a triumphant return in Pokmon Platinum. Situated in the Fight Area of Sinnoh, the Battle Frontier now only has 5 facilities within it as opposed to the seven original ones.
Battle Factory
The Battle Factory makes a welcome re-appearance from Pokmon Emerald. Like its previous counterpart, it has you battling only with Pokmon that you rent out here. You start off with a team and go through the factory, battling other people with rental Pokmon. Once you defeat them, you have the opportunity to take one of their Pokmon in exchange for one of yours, allowing you to change your team for the better.
The battles are done in sets of 7, and as you continue your streak, the Pokmon you face will become better and your opponents stronger. For this, you really have to learn your type-matchups and the Pokmon's stat strengths and weaknesses
Battle Tower
The Battle Tower also once again makes a re-appearance. It runs essentially exactly like the previous Battle Tower in Diamond & Pearl. It has three areas for you to go in; Single Battle, Double Battle & Multi-Battle. The battles are done in sets of 7 and as you progress through your streak, the Pokmon & opponents get stronger.
Battle Castle
The Battle Castle is a battle facility that works similar to the Battle Tower. However, this time you do not have your Pokmon healed after battle. Instead, you earn Castle Points which can be spent on a variety of things including healing and seeing your opponent's Pokmon. The battles are done in sets of 7 and as you progress through your streak, the Pokmon & opponents get stronger.
Battle Roulette
The Battle Roulette in the south-east Corner of the Battle Frontier. It is a single or multi battle so 3 on 3 or 2 on 2. Before each battle, depending on what you spin on the wheel, you will get certain prizes that will aid you in completing your streak, or that will inflict afflictions on either yourself or your opponent
Battle Stage
The Battle Stage in the north-west corner of the Battle Frontier is unique in that, as opposed to choosing a team of Pokmon to use, you can only use one or two if you're doing Double Battles. Once in, you get to select the type of the Pokmon you wish to face. The battles are done in sets of 7 and as you progress through your streak, the Pokmon & opponents get stronger.
Battle Shops
Like in past games, battling in the Battle Frontier and the Battle Tower earns you Battle Points. These can be saved up and then spent on various items in the various stalls placed around the Battle Frontier. There is also an extra stall that will allow you to buy scratch cards in the hope of winning up to three items
After you have completed Stark Mountain's subquest, and whatched as Handsome took Pluto into custody and Team Galactic's final strike fail. You get access to a restaurant within the Survival Area. In this Restaurant, Gym Leaders will show up and will be eager to battle you again. Below are the Gym Leaders and their Pokmon
Gym Leader Roster: http://www.serebii.net/platinum/gym-rematches.shtml
Like the gym leaders, the elite four have had a rework to include new Pokmon within the Sinnoh Dex
http://www.serebii.net/platinum/elitefour.shtml
Unlike in Emerald, the gyms in Pokmon Platinum have all had a radical redesign in comparison to the gyms in Diamond & Pearl. These incorporate more puzzles than before in order to make it even more of an accomplishment to get the badge. We'll add each gym as we go, but until now we only have info for a small number of gyms
http://www.serebii.net/platinum/gyms.shtml
In Pokmon Platinum, as with most of the Pokmon games, there are several Pokmon that you receive as Gifts from various computer characters within the game. Some are in eggs, others are the Pokmon straight up
#175 Togepi
The first of these Pokmon that you'll probably encounter is given to you by Cynthia. After you deal with the Galactic Grunts within Eterna City, Cynthia will reward you by giving you an egg of a Pokmon. Once hatched, it hatches into Togepi. Togepi is a Pokmon in the Sinnoh Dex, but you cannot find it in the wild until you have the National Dex
#133 Eevee
Next, when you get to Hearthome, if you go to the house next to the Pokmon Center, you will be introduced to Bebe. Bebe thanks you for using her system and gives you an Eevee. Eevees are not found in the wild in Pokmon Platinum so you'll have to breed it to get all the evolutions of it.
#137 Porygon
In one of the northmost houses of Veilstone City, you will be given a Porygon by one of the people inside. Like Eevee, Porygon is not available in the wild in Platinum so if you wish to have more, you will have to breed.
#447 Riolu
Another Pokmon that you cannot find in the wild, once you have helped Riley through Iron Island and defeated the Galactic Grunts, he will give you an egg of the Pokmon Riolu. Riolu is very rare and cannot be found in the wild on any game
