Religious Holidays

As you all know, unless you live in Australia, the Summer is finally here!

In just over a week's time, I'll be going on a trip called Newday with the church I go to. There are other trips such as Soul Survivor and New Wine, which are all Britain-based trips, happening over the Summer Holidays.

So, I was just wondering, is anybody else on SC going to one of the trips I mentioned, or maybe an American version, and has anybody been to them before, and if so, what were they like?

Since I head back to class in two weeks, my summer vacation space is pretty over. I didn't really do anything religious this summer, besides religiously play RPG's.

The Jewish Youth Group around here is going to Israel sometime in the summer. And Aushwitz (spelling). Not for any holiday though.

Sorry, this is in no way meant to be offensive to your religion, but why would you be going to Auschwitz?

I went to Soul Survivor when I was fourteen with three friends, one of whom dragged the other trio of us along because her mother was religious, and she made her go. I called it God Camp. It was the single most dull, brainwashing pile of altruistic smeg I've ever experienced. We spent our entire time sneaking off into Shepton Mallet, insulting Catholics and accordingly hiding in fields to escape their burning torches. It was quite entertaining, looking back. Thankfully, my friend realised her mistake and told her mother she was suddenly becoming a Satanist. She didn't really, but the effect was hilarious.

Oh, FINALLY someone with a brain. THAT, my dear problemsolver, is more refreshing than chilled Pinot Grigio at the centre of the sun. See, I have no PROBLEM with anyone believing what they like, I just don't share their views. It's wonderful to meet someone who doesn't consider that flaming!

Yeah, I have Catholic friends who've laughed at that picture. I do like it when people can actually RECOGNISE a joke and take it as one.

Mm, my familly is Christian, so besides going to church, We don't do much religious stuff.
