I personally prefer tabs for the guitar over notes. They are easier to read and well what's everyone's opinion.

I used to play the trumpet so I could read notes but I have gotten rusty. I could brush up on them but tabs are much easier for guitar.

Tabs for me, but it does make songs more difficult that it sounds sometimes. I learned to play dragonforce songs thanks to notes that I downloaded.
