How do i build a good stats for Magician (Heretic)?

I've already played this game quite much with slasher, and now i tried to play it with magician that wields scythe. But i still confused with his stats build plan. I've played many RPG with Magician as one of the class but this is my first time play a magician with a melee weapon. My current stats building plan is +1 for luck, INT, and CON per Levels. Can anyone tell me a better stat building plan? After all... I was thinking that maybe a scythe wielding magician might need some STR or DEX stats as well? (Cause they were using a melee weapon which usually use physical ATK more than magic ATK)
