There is a seven year gap from CC and FFVII

From the beginning of CC maybe but by the end of CC there is only a short gap "The game's storyline takes the player from the war with the Wutai to the events at Nibelheim, and right up to the time just before the Final Fantasy VII beginning" quoted from wikipedia.

Found a timeline page for ff7 and the end of CC and the start of FF7 is only days inbetween.

Game Start
Cloud and AVALANCHE blow up a Mako reactor in Midgar.

Hours before
Cloud meets Tifa at the Sector Seven trainstation. Cloud begins to form his own illusory world by Jenova's power.

Days before
Cloud and Zack arrive in Midgar--Zack is killed by Shinra and Cloud is left for dead.

One week before
Zack and Cloud escape the Shinra Mansion in Nibelheim.

Four years before
Corel is burned by the Shinra. Barret and Dyne both loose one hand. Barret's wife dies in the fire. Marlene adopted by Barret.

Five years before
Marlene born. Shinra uses SOLDIER to put down resistance. Tifa meets Zack (?) Nibelheim burned by Sephiroth after he finds Jenova. Tifa's father murdered by Sephiroth. Sephiroth dies, taking Jenova's head with him. Hojo begins his experiments on the remaining Nibelheim populace, includidng Zack and Cloud.

Six years before
War between Shinra and Wutai ends. Space program ended when Shin-Ra discovers how profitable Mako is. First Mako reactor built in Nibelheim.

i meant his SOLDIER uniform. How'd it get all beat up and stuff? He's missing a shoulder pad and the other one has these bolts or screws popping out. Same with the gloves. Also, if he was so confused after mako poisoning that he forgot Zack, how'd he talk to Zack before he died? I mean, just carting around the Buster Sword should bring back memories. Also, when Cloud started walking to Midgar, his mako poisoning was healed enough that he could move. The only effects were that he was still weak.

That's not his Soldier uniform Zack gave him those clothes. He only started to remember Zack while Tifa was helping him recover from the mako poisoning he recieved after falling in the lifestream. After Zack died he assumed all the memories he had of what Zack did were his own.

Yes, I know that the Uniform was given to him. But it was fine when he got it. Does walking to Midgar really cause that much damage?

Maybe the clothes were like that when Zack gave them to him.

No. At the end of CC, when Cloud gets the Buster Sword from Zack, it is clear that the uniform is intact.

Tifa didn't find Cloud immediately when he got to Midgar so the uniform probably got a little damaged then.

God damn SquareSoft.

i recon zack could win in CC if he can kill avatar genesis (who has ????? health) then i think theres a 50% chance of zack or cloud winning, ... yet again cloud killed sephiroth by accident in CC and killed him in AC and i names my dog cloud cause i thought he was tough as.................. aerith ftw! i mean cloud!

Cloud would kick zacks butt. cloud probable has a better weapon too. I dunno where he got it from but his sword(s) is sick in advent children! Zack's cooler tho, he probably looks cooler too. But, cloud's clothes are better he like personalised his SOLDIER outfit didn't he? While Zack just kept it normal. But yeah cloud would win. Zack is still pretty tough though. I reckon it would be a good fight to watch. they can't make that happen though can they? :P

They both posses great skill but with cloud being the only version of the jenova sample injected into him beside sephiroth it was always clear it would be cloud v sephiroth eventually, tho I would have loved to have seen more from genesis and angeal
