I had this team and was able to win every game by at least 5-6 goals and beat First Touch United 9-0. You don't have to get exactly who I get but if you get others who bring the same skill-set you'll be fine.
GOALKEEPER: Gianluigi Buffon. I feel that he and Casillas are the two best keepers in the world, with Tim Howard slightly behind. Either one of these three would be a good option. A goalie is necessary for your seven subs, look to get someome like Christian Abbiati, Jimmy Nielsen, Nick Rimando, etc.
DEFENDERS: I got two wing backs in Roberto Carlos and Cafu, with Matt Besler and Fabio Cannavaro in the middle. I think that Carlos and Cafu, despite their ratings, are the best wing backs on the game because their speed is superior to literally everyone else. Roberto Canella and Cedric Mongongu are my backups, but any other solid wing back would do (Ignazio Abate, etc). My center backs aren't the best in the world, but Besler and Cannavaro are solid. Plus, Besler provides an intangible no other defender has: he can take a throw in and put the ball in the box. You can use a set piece any time you're throwing the ball in anytime you're even remotely near your box. I don't have any other center backs as one of my seven nominated subs, but just for good depth I would get another solid CB like Chiellini, Aurelien Collin, or Paolo Cannavaro.
MIDFIELDERS: I think that the ideal formation for your club is a 4-3-3, but in my case, with four extremely solid forwards, I found myself using a 4-2-4 most of the time. I got Zinedine Zidane and Andrea Pirlo as my midfielders. When you're using a two-midfielder formation, look to use the left midfielder as more of an attacker and your right midfielder as your defensive-middle, chance-creator kind of guy. For that reason, Kyle Beckerman backs up Pirlo. I have Verdu and Oscar Hiljemark as two other subs at the midfield spot in case Zidane gets fatigued (which hardly ever happens). When you're first starting out as a club, look to get Hiljemark right away. The guy is extremely underrated and will likely lead your team in scoring if you don't have any other superstars on your front line. Other left-midfielders you can use is Graham Zusi and Di Natale. Benny Feilhaber is another option if you're looking for a chance-creator kind of guy. Jermaine Jones would be a good option in this case as well.
FORWARDS: On my front line, I have James Rodriguez, Mario Balotelli, Pele, and Brandao. If you have four players on your front line, save your money and use the two middle guys as your superstar strikers. If you're looking to play a little moneyball, you could use Alvaro Saborio and Dmitry Imbongo and get virtually the same results. The only difference between them and Balotelli/Pele is that Sabo and Imbongo aren't as fast and they don't finish on EVERY open shot (unlike the former two). As a result, you'll score three to four goals with them as opposed to four, five six with Balotelli and Pele. James Rodriguez, I would say, is the most valuable player on the game. He's worth less than 200 coins and he's the biggest steal you can possibly have. Additionally, Brandao is another solid player you can count on to finish. I have Rory Fallon backing up those four, and I usually only put him in once someone scores a hat trick so as to not run up the score. Marco Di Viao would also be a good addition to your team as a middle guy in the 4-2-4, or anywhere in a 4-3-3. With a 4-3-3, I think the best players to have would be Saborio, Pele, and Balotelli.
I hope this works, it did for me. Good luck.
