I greatly dislike the Gauss Rifle. Reloading after every shot isn't worth the extra power. If I want a scoped weapon, I'll use the Victory Rifle. If I want a rifle, I'll use Lincoln's Repeater. If I want an energy weapon I'll use the Metal Blaster or A3-21's Plasma Rifle. The Gauss Rifle is strong, but it lacks speed, which makes it generally worthless in my eyes.
The Steelyard was massive. Despite being tall, it had a large area, was generally creepy, and it had the power plant, which is one of my favorite locations in Fallout 3 now.
Besides, if you didn't look around, you missed a lot in The Pitt. There were hidden locations, aformentioned Power Plant, and an Apartment building full of Trogs, not to mention lots of other hidden places.
The Auto Axe is awesome, and it has a special version with possibly the best name in the game: The Man Opener.
Let's take a look at what Anchorage had, and what The Pitt had in terms of weapons, not counting the frickin' Gary Trick:
The Pitt:
Auto Axe (Man Opener, The Mauler, Steel Saw)
Infiltrator (Predorator, or however the hell it's spelled)
Metal Blaster
Wild Bill's Sidearm
Steel Knuckles
Anchorage:
Trench Knife
Gauss Rifle
Jingwei Shock Sword
That's an advantage to The Pitt. It has more, it has better (Auto Axe > Shock Sword, Preforator > Gauss rifle), and it has awesome weapons.
Now the armor, not counting Gary Trick.
Anchorage:
Winterized T-51b
Outcast Specialist Robe
Neural Interface Suit
Chinese Stealth Suit
The Pitt:
Ausher's Power Armor
Tribal Power Armor
Bombshell Armor
Filtration Helmet
Gamma Shield Armor
Hat of People
Laborer Outfit
Leather Rebel
Metal Master Armor
And many, many more.
The Pitt simply outclasses Anchorage. Better plot, better weapons, cooler locations, better quests, better armor, and more fun. I'll tell you, I've got like three or four characters I'm working on, and every time I went through the DLCs with them, I dreaded Anchorage but looked forward to The Pitt.
