Crisis Core: Lots of Info Plus Scans and Trailer

This will be the new Crisis Core Discussion Thread. The old one was falling apart and did'nt have many posts about Crisis Core itself, and we did'nt have much info on the game. Thats why I made this one.

Battle System

-The reels are the symbolic expression of Zack's memories and situation. Mind and body are affected as they spin, aiming to change various characteristic of the young SOLDIER.
- The left reel affects HP, the center MP, and the right AP.
- If you satisfy certain conditions which effect only the reel screen, special patterns will emerge and their power can be invoked.
- Usually below the reels the indicator says "normal," but you can access a special mode.
- Getting 2 of the same character or number gives you a larger bonus, and 3 of the same will set off a special attack. (Limit Break)
- If you satisfy these conditions of the reels, the reel menu only will covert, and will only contain the pattern that set off the Limit Break. (From what I read of demo reports, I believe that Zack will be temporarily invulnerable while the Limit Break is being invoked.)
- There will be materia that can change the probability of the reels.
- HP and MP levels are of little effect.
- But if you run out of SP, the reels will stop.

Story Summary

- With the strong human portrayals (of the characters), the point is to move the player to tears.
- In the latest (trailer lit: image) a new blonde character (Lazard/Razard) appeared.
- There is also a new female character.
- Tseng and Aeris' past will only be covered a little.
- For the first half the Shinra building will be the home base, and the story will advance in the various places you're dispatched to. It is possible to visit the 8 Sectors.
- Along with progressing the story you are free to move about the Field map, but there is no World Map.
- The whole of the development process is at 60%
- Lazard is a representative of the SOLDIER union.
- Genesis' voice is provided by Mr. Gackt. Genesis is a SOLDIER 1st Class.
- Before Aeris' image was of someone sacred and holy, but this time she has a very lively image.
- While he is in 2nd Class we have "Zack the puppy" but when he becomes a 1st Class he changes his hair style.
- Just as Cloud was influenced by Zack, Zack in turn will be influenced by Angeal. (Not sure if that's supposed to be literal.)
- The major point of the story is, the presentation of how the three different members of SOLDIER's 1st Class will influence Zack. The relationship between these three is paramount.

From the Dengeki Interview

- Tabata describes CC as a 'human drama' dealing with Zack while he was alive that concentrates on its portrayal of the characters
- You only control Zack, and not a party of characters
- While the battles might look complicated, you won't have to input a lot of tricky commands
- Following with CC's focus on drama, battles incorporate story elements as well, you might even 'end up crying during some of the battles'
- Materia in CC will have an original method of customization
- There's more to the battles than what was shown at Jump Festa
- The first part of the game has you being dispatched to different locations with the Shinra building as your home base, and the latter parts involve Zack on the run from Shinra
- Nomura describes the battle system as like ATB system without the 'wait' setting. You enter commands when a gauge fills up, but that isn't displayed on the screen
- Even though it's already clear what will happen to Zack, Nomura feels that when people get to that point of the game they'll feel strongly about wanting to try to avoid that fate
- Zack gradually grows up into a man as he makes his way towards being a SOLDIER 1st class, in contrast to the whole 'puppy' thing
- Although their personalities are completely different, Angeal will have an impact on Zack and he grows as a character (like Zack did to Cloud)
- Nomura comments on how much effort Nojima is putting into the scenario, and thinks CC’s is his best of late

Hey wait a second,how did you change the topics name, its true that my topic didnt have anything about Crisis core but I wanted to keep it as a FF13 versus infromacion topic.You should of have told me this after closing it LOL.But anyway could you do me a favor,Remember Rocket news topic well I decided to put some stuff from the 3 ff13,theres some infromacion there so im not asking you to pin it but atleast post a "YA" in it so that it comes up again thank you.Its in the 2 or 3rd page in this forum.

Now lets talk about this,whats the Reels,Is reels used
for everything,like limit breaks and commands.Thats one thing I dont understand I thought the gameplay was like kingdom hearts.Also if you use only Zack then why does sephiroth and tseng faces show on the top left screen.And who is lazard is there a picture
of him.

Have you every played reels at a casino? Its like that, three reels spin on the screen and by stopping them at the right time will make Zack attack. If you get three of the same kind Zack will do a limit break attack.

The faces are part of the reels. I'm not sure yet but I'm guessing the reels are part of Zacks memories. If Zack has good memories (Aries, Angeal, ect.) it increases his stats, but if he has a bad memories (Genesis, Tseng, ect.) it decreases his stats.

Pretty cool,so the head of sephiroth,tseng and genesis appeared is cause of the reels.How about the adventuring and stuff Its says that its only in midgar,like you can go around all the sectors.Cant you go like to rocket town or Gold Saucer.

They said there is no world map but they did say that you can free roam just about any area of the game, and the area depends on where your base is. The bases I know of are the Shinra Manor and HQ in Mingard. After those its like Last Order, you have to try and escape.

hmm, sounds interesting

I'm sure that at the end of CC there is going to be a secret ending. Just to leave it open incase of another FF7 game. If not they might put one in on Before Crisis. And if you notice Zack and Cloud act very similar. Well besides Zack being alot less shy then Cloud. And I wonder how Cloud got ahold of and why he got ahold of the Buster Sword. Because I'm pretty certain Genesis had it.

Genesis's weapon is unknown of the moment.
The Buster Swords first belonged to Angeal, Zacks Teacher. When Angeal was killed Zack took the Buster Sword. Than when Zack was killed at the mountain over looking Midgar Cloud took the Buster Sword where he ran to the Sector 7 slums and met Tifa. And that’s where FF7 starts.

You know I think genesis doesnt have a weapon,I bet he is like a magnetto or something from Xmen.Judging by the looks of course I bet he just uses magic and summons.

I think with this whole discussion we are over-looking something. Granted, I'm sure Crisis Core will clear alot of things up but still, I can't shake the feeling like there is something we missed. Like I doubt it but an alternative ending to DOC. And then of course there is Before Crisis that will come out. But, something has to have been overlooked in this whole thing.

2. A Single Record

We can only begin to imagine who this enigmatic warrior might be.

There are rumors that he was biochemically constructed prototype for the soldier who would become "S". However, there are no documents to supports these claims. In fact, there is so little information on G that his existence may be nothing but a fabrication.

The only thing that may give insight into this mystery is a lone personal record which indicates that several years ago, a SOLDIER 1st Class was assigned a top-secret mission to pursue a target known only as "G".

Unfortunately, any further data on this mission been lost or destroyed.

With the trailer of Crisis Core it becomes obvious that the S and G metioned are Sephiroth and Genesis. They even say it, It is alittle later in the trailer and Zack is looking at Sephiroth in the Niblem Reactor and Zack says, "Project G..." And Sephiroth replies Project Genesis. So that is one thing out of many solved. (Which you two probaly already knew.) By any chance does it metion who wrote the G reports?

The G Reports were written by Lucrecia.Now I would say the puzzles is looking better.Cause we knew everything until DoC secret ending,this made the puzzle look like $hit,cause it made us doubt everything bout G and we though he was Sephiroths bro.But I still dont understand something,G is a clone or Remnant of sephiroth?,I think he isnt cause by the time of CC sephiroth was normal he wsnt used for any experiments I think.So who exactly is Genesis,I think CC basicly sticks to the story between,Zack,shinras past,Sephiroth,Genesis,Aeris and the Turks.Whatever CC is about,it will definetly clear up and decide what gonna happen now.Whci is,I think the last Chapter of FF7,I think.It will rpoblably let us know if the last chapter which is about genesis will be DoC part 2 or like something else,I smell that the last chapter has maybe some stuff to do with Marlene and Denzel,do you think that the next game will be about Denzel maybe 16 years old or something and is a warrior like cloud or something.That would be cool!

The Omega Reports were done by Lucrecia, the G reports were done by some one other than Lucrecia

That could be a great possibilty. With CC and BC it should answer our questions but will most likely leave us with many more. They basically say G was a prototype for S. So obviously G was around longer than S. What are the Omega reports?

The Omega Reports are thoughts and theories of Lucrecia. Which start with a finding of an ancient Cetra Tablet. Following the death of Grimoire Valentine, Father of Vincent, Lucrecia decided to write eight reports on her theories of Chaos and Omega.

They are as follows:

Omega Report 1: Discovery


-Ancient Tablet Discovered-

Soul wought of terra corrupt,
Quelling impurity,
Purging the stream
To beckon forth an ultimate fate.
Behold mighty Chaos,
Omega's squire to the lofty heavens.

---After further study of the tablet by our research team, it has been determined that this passage was written by the Cetra over two thousand years ago.

Omega Report 2: No New Findings

Could "Omega" be a place and "Chaos" a person? While out search of the site has continued, we have been unable to locate any new artifacts that may help us to answer our many questions.


-Promised Land-

Quite a few of my colleagues have come to the conclusion that Omega may be the fabled "promised land" to which legend states the Cetra are to lead us. However, I still have my doubts. If Omega were an actual location, then how could Chaos be its "squire to the lofty heavens"?

Next month, administration will finally be sending me the assistant I have been asking for. Rumor has it she graduated at the top of her university class.

Omega Report 3: Alternate Theories

Review of several dated reports on our world's Lifestream have shed new light on my theories about the Cetra inscription. Just as we are born from the flowing matter below our feet, I now believe that Chaos and Omega may also be sentient lifeforms that the planet creates al its own will.

If we were able to discover the exact location where these two beings are to be born, the scientific repercussions would be enormous.

I was informed by a fellow paleontologist this morning that the company had discovered another Cetra artifact, and a new large-scale research project was scheduled to begin. She also said that my assistant had been offered a place on the team.

Omega Report 4: The Terrasystem

The more I learn of this wonderous planet's inner-workings, the more I am in awe of that which lies before me.

Omega... Part of a system created by our world to preserve the constant circulation of life. And therein lies the key to solving this mystery... For many years it has been documented that local legends not only speak of this phenomenon in terms of a planetary scale, but also suggest that the entire cosmos may follow the same rules.

I must say, I am quite pleased with the work of my fine assistant. Her ardent approach to the tasks before her will most certainly lead us to the many answers which continue to elude our team.

If Omega is to act as the ark which guides all life to the boundless sea of stars... then what of Chaos?

The ancient inscription implies that his duty is to "beckon forth an ultimate fate." Perhaps it is he who is destined to lead us to Omega.

Omega Report 6: Impurities


Impurities in the Lifestream

The spring that Dr. Valentine discovered is amazing! I am certain that it is some sort of reservoir for the "terra corrupt" mentioned on the Cetra tablet.

The doctor believes the crystalline spring contains contaminated deposits of bioplasma that have overflown from the pure Lifestream. In fact, all of our readings indicate a strange type of energy radiating from the site. Could this grotto be the location where the legendary Chaos is destined to be born?

Omega Report 7: Chaos

My conscience tells me that I must leave some sort of record documenting all that I have attempted.

That which slumbers within him... The antithesis of Omega... Chaos.

Before Omega begins his journey to the sea of stars, Chaos will scourge the world of all things living, sending them back to the Lifestream...

Only to be left with the burden of bearing the discarded remains of a dying world.

Omega Report 8: Protomateria


Protomateria

I have determined the materia found by Dr. Valentine at the fountain of Chaos to be a type of refined anti-matter formed within the grotto over the past several millenia.

I believe the planet created this instrument out of necessity as a means to control Chaos and prolong its own inevitable fate.

By controlling Chaos, the planet also succeeds in preventing the advent of Omega. If Chaos is allowed to fulfill his destiny of destruction, Omega's awakening cannot be far behind.
