Wutai is a difficult place to get through because you don't ahve any materia. It's also an optional place but I advise you go there because you can pick up some great items there.

to make your stay at wutai alot better..... equip yoshiyuki to cloud
( you get it from an old man in rocket town u keep on talking to him and he will give it to u) it is best weapon it does alot of damage when ur ppl are low on health eg..did 7000 damage for my cloud (climhazzard limit break) and killed the boss at wutai easily.
