Are these games good?

I think Final Fantasy looks cool, but all my friends say it's a piece of crud. Is Final Fantasy good, or is it cruddy like my friends say?

try it. a lot of people see it as their favourite game. some people who havent tried it or havent really gotten into it sometime have mixed opinions.

this game has a great battle system and the series is known for its strong stories. this game has such a huge following in Japan, it seems to be a trend.

if i were you, i would play FF VII first, although it is incredibly rare now. and the graphics are terrible, but if you look past all that, you'll see a masterpiece of a story, and its easy to get into the battle system.

Ok, were could I find FF Vll?

you could try ebay or amazon. i doubt it will be cheap though, since its very rare. i dont know about american stores since ive never been there, lol

no. thats a sequel. FF VII is for the PS1

Ok, well I just rented Dirge of Cerebrus today. So what's the difference between the PS1 and PS2 versions.(FF Vll wise)

everything!! DoC is a 3rd person shooter, and FF VII is an RPG, and is set about 4 years after FF VII IIRC. also i dont think you'll get whats going on if your going to start on DoC or Advent Children without playing FF VII first

not exactly. its more of an action game.

if you cant find FF VII (which is understandable, since its so rare) try FF X. its about the same style

Try EB Games if there is one near you. I also found a copy of FF Vll at Gamestop. You can find FFX all over the place. Well, I can. Also, they are good games yes, but it is up to your opinion.

Even if DoC is not a real FF game persay, at least I could get used to the fighting controls. Well, are the controls the same as actual FF games?

No they aren't. I don't think so. Like repner siad, DoC is a shooter, nothing like that of the actuall FF games.
