Snaking isn't illegal. It's a very useful technique.
Just power slide and repeatingly, tap the left and right things on the D-Pad and then let go, get the boost, and power slide again, lather and repeat.

Snaking is lame, but effective.
I see users on wi-fi do this all the time...
I only snake whenever i need to, but i prefer not to snake...especially on rainbow road.
