The metal camo that reduces damage is pretty good.
The snakeskin camo allows you to knock enemies out in one hit and also reduces the weight of the equipment you carry.

It's useful to increase your camo index to the maximum in certain areas.

I usually don't save the patterns, I just let it switch.

I never saw any reason to save the patterns because of the fact that it changes on it's own when you stay still.
