lol... No, I did not cheat, I just frequently checked my 100% file to see where the nearest item was. It didn't hurt that I already knew where about 2/3 of them were already.

Not if you can pull off every stinkin' Speed Boost possible. There are a number of Speed Boost barriers that have no connection whatsoever to items. They're just there to help you get around faster if you know they're there.
