Had been playing some metroid for few days a week ago and found dark beam cool usefull on those ingsmasher to freeze em and then shoot like 1 or 2 supermissile and boom they dead.

to pyro: bcuz when I last played metroid I found the dark beam pretty effective and shot more ammo of it then light... only found the light beam good to shoot down the dark chyka...

They both use the same amount of ammo, but you're right, Dark Beam pwns.

No ! *Makes a mad face * the dark beam stinks, the dark beam is too in-accurate for me and is only useful for "freezing" enemies. The light beam however almost always hit [with a charged shot] and is really powerful [with a charged shot. And pretty much all the bosses in the game are weak to the light beam.

Yes, inaccurate, but if you can catch a foe off-guard (especially in multiplayer mode) with a charged blast it's absolute awesomeness. You then just plug away with Missles or more Dark beam shots, or if you're evil, charge your Dark Beam, and the instant the foe breaks from the dark energy, blast them again.

What I do in multiplayer is

1-Stalk up on then quietly and shoot then with light beam,and usualy they try to run but I go after then and I shoot a charged light beam shot at them.

2-Stalk at my prey,but instead get a dark beam and freeze them and shoot a charged light beam and/or a missles.

3-In defense from attack,I shoot back while dodging in all directions.

with the ammo thing I ment that I used dark beam more then lightbeam(shot more ammo away)

It doesn't, they use the same both charged and regular.
