Even though it is random, there technically is still a pattern, like in MW.
In both the games, it's really likely that the pink slip won't be in the same spot again.

look the trick to is select the same spot each time, if you get wrong restart the console and do the race again. however in carbon its easy to make enough without using the pinkslips. so... do whatever you please

No, actually, you're completely wrong. It doesn't have anything to do with what class you choose. It is always, everytime, completely random.

It is from ign, Have you any proof?, Because my info is from a site, Its never random, always in the same spots,
Several sites including SuperC , hint that the Markers will never change

Credit goes to HeadBass for this quick NFSC tip. After winning over each boss you have a chance to choose two markers out of six. Under one of the "hidden" markers there is always a "Pink Slips" option, which will get you opponents car. As in NFS Most Wanted these random looking options are always the same (so generally you have to beat each opponent two times to find out what is under which marker). HeadBass claims that:
Dodge Charger 2nd marker (possibly 3rd)
Mazda RX7 3rd marker (possibly 2nd)
Aston Martin 4th marker (possibly 2nd)

I'll back up davy's claim by saying that Angie's pink slip was always under the second ? whenever I beat her when starting with muscle.

And I actually have the game, as would everybody else here, but I'm still a reliable source because I have the game, AND I have seen for myself that the Pink Slip for Angie's Charger was ALWAYS under the second marker when starting with muscle.

Its not actually completely random, i just checked, and if u start the game using a muscle car then angie's marker will be under the 2nd marker, however the other 2 bosses are random. Thats how the game works. WHatever class u start with, the boss in that class has a set marker and the other 2 are random, i've tried this with a few different games starting with different classes and it always works the same.

Well I have an opinion. I used Komodo's logic and choose the 3rd Slot; I got the Pink Slip. But then, I faced Wolf and picked the 2nd. Proven wrong.
However i did notice something interesting. In both pick up slots. I got the Pink Slip and the Cash, and, In both, the Cash was to the right of The Pink slip. So, I'm guessing, "GUESSING", that if you choose a slot and get the Cash, the one to the left might be Pink Slip.
I'm not telling this is a fact, just my opinion of my guesses, perhaps, I'll try it with Kenji. Cheers
