Ok, first calm down. Second, here's your answers:
1. At the start of the game, it tells you how to train your dogs. Did you read what they said? Or did you just skip through it? It teaches you how to train. When you teach them a trick, call them close by saying their name, or touch the whistle icon. When you got the dog close, say the camand the way you tought it. It should do it. The more times you say it, the longer it'll hold the trick at contests.
2. Trainer Points are points you earn by doing things with your dogs. When you get a lot of trainer points, you unlock new houses and dogs. To earn them, do things with your dogs like take them for walks, bathe them, enter contests, etc.

Trainer points allow you to unlock more stuff. Like dog breeds, items and stuff like that. I also heard a rumor that they make your dog like you more but I do not know if it is true

Um there is a wat to make your dog like you more....milk makes the a little happier and so does natural dog food (AKA : additive free food!) but anyways this question has been answered many accurate ways so posting in this topic is no longer needed!

I can help you. Hello, my name is Arya (username: nintengirl12) and I know almost anything about Nintendogs. Your first question was why your dog won't do any of the tricks you tell him to. Think back-- how did you say the trick when you were teaching it to him? If you can't remember, click in your dog's name when you are at the homescreen and click on trick list. If you click on any trick, you can select if you want your dog to forget that trick. You can reteach him/her that trick later, but to avoid confusing your dog, say it the same way every time.
