Nope, it'll be like the others. You have to do a mission, then you'll unlock Luminous Spring

You've never been able to evolve before beating the others, so I doubt you'll evolve before beating the game.

Gotta wait till you unlock Luminous Spring...AFTER you defeat Darkrai you can also evolve your starters.

its a shame u cant evole before darkrai cause hes quite a hard boss so being evolved would help
