No, when you trade with people on wifi thoughs people always have the option to look at the pokemon your trading him.

I think what he meant was, can you trade for a Pok�mon you haven't seen before.

If that is the case, then yes. Wi-Fi trading is not like trading in the GTS.

Yes like mumification said, you can trade for pokes that you've never seen before with your friends, however you can't on the GTS.

Also mumification, espeondude_ is leaving sc, so should you unpin this and make another "I need help with wi-fi thread" or no?

Yes and to be honest it isnt that much used really anyway so why replace it.

how do i get my friend code?

OK-I am an "old" person who has been able to connect at the GTS station to offer and seek Pokemon I need in Pearl to complete my Pokedex. So, why is it that I never have a problem when I seek and receive a Pokemon buy have problems often when I try to post one to OFFER for a trade? I get a communication error, the box turns orange (upper right/bottom of screen) then it just dies???? No-I can't ask my parents-they are gone. And, it does register my connection in the WiFi settings and the tests are fine.

i cant connect to my router. its a dlink. my wii works fine but when i search for point it doesnt find it?

my internet provider is orange, and when i try to set wifi up, the ds says i have the wrong security settings but i cant change them.

You must use a "Nintendo WiFi USB Connector", or a Wireless Router. With either one, set it up to your computer. If already done, you will automatically get your friend code the very first time you get on WiFi.

ok the main problem is YOU DON'T HAVE A ROUTER! or you're secrurity settings arent compatible. that was my problem

ok so here are the main problems with wifi
1) YOU DON'T HAVE A ROUTER
2) your secrurity is not compatible with the ds

i had this problem at my cousins house dlinks not compatible with psp or ds however i own a linksys wirless router. my psp ds laptop and wii can all connect at once try buying one at walmart

you probably didn't have a wep key thats the only kind of security it accepts

where can i find nintendo hotspots?

i went to the mcdonalds where i always used to go but then i found out on the internet that mcdonalds no longer has free wifi.

where can i go to look for nintendo hotspots or will it work with any router?
