well, the most important thing in the game is endurance, because if you never let the ball through, you cant lose can you, just like soccer, if you never let a goal in, then you cant lose...it takes time to get that far and to reach indigo plateau...
dont bother actually trying to get the move going, just whenever the psyduck or the other one get hit twice and its on two should you try and get it...
i find putting the ball around the big loop (or trying to) may result in hitting the things...when you do hit them, its time to pick whether your gonna go around the loop, or into the slowpoke, cloyster things...use your strengths, and basically its up to skill from then on, to get it into the hole, take your time in aiming for it (unless youve only got three seconds to go) and be precise...
