I've tried standing infront of it, with both bamboo and tipped spear, but no bubble appears above my head...help!

Never mind...I did it!!
I decided to focus on increasing my wardrobe and made about 10 new outfits. As I was 'crafting' the boar came up to me, and before I could reach for my spear, the 'bubble' appeared and i was able to kill the boar, without really having to do anything! After all those times trying....could it be that all i had to do was make more clothes???
